It is now the future, the year is 2525.
Human science has been meddling with genetics for centuries. Cloning animals for the benefits of mankind was only the beginning.
For ages they restrained themselves to never experiment upon humankind. To do so has been outlawed for over half a millenium.
Until 55 years ago in the 25th century, the military demanded a way to heighten a soldier's fighting prowess and enhance their immunity to a threat of germ warfare.
'Volunteers' were altered but never quite as intended and soon discarded back out into society changed in some way and never really accepted.
At the same time the cities of New York and Chicago were devastated by nuclear distruction causing varieties of radiation abnormalities in many humans, and wide decay of the big cities.
10 years after that, for military benefit, science finally crossed the line, putting feline DNA strands into human embryos.
In an attempt to create a race of anthro cats bred for the military use only.
Only one out of ten embryos resulted in an anthro with the visible cat characteristics. Fur, feline ears, claws and a tail.
The other 9 out of 10 resulted in what looked to be a normal human child or a simple feline cat.
Most if not all of the cats were destroyed. The human children, no younger than 12 were put into orphanages.
Only to later grow into their anthro cat forms.
After discovering that the humans released to society had eventually turned felinoid, the military was told to cease creating anymore.
But it is too little too late. The anthros have bred and become widely dispersed, and may soon be proclaimed another race with equal rights.
Man, mutant and feline, all equal according to the government yet they are at odds constantly.
Some seek to use their strength and powers to dominate over man, calling themselves a superior race.
While others ally together to protect human and catkind alike...
