Griffin Rifle Team defeats Staockbridge 1128 - 1100
GHS Rifle Team members celebrated another victory after defeating Stockbridge in an 1128 - 1100. Team Captain Jeremy Moore (senior) led the way with a 291, his first time in the lead spot in the past two competitions. A 98 in both prone and kneeling, and a school high of 95 in standing, Moore proved he could take the number one spot on competition day.
Supporting Moore's lead was Co-captain Barry Oliver (junior), who shot 286 for the second time this season. Oliver nearly shot a perfect score last week, missing by one point,... not this week. Oliver posted a perfect 100 in the prone position, and a 98 in the kneeling. Freshman Roderick Foster improved his scores this week, shooting a 281. An astounding score which tied the team captain's score last week. Co-captain Jessica McClian (sophomore) shot a 270 anchoring Griffin's win. Micheal Barrett shot in his first competition, shooting a 259, a great score for the first varsity match for a first year shooter.
Next week Griffin goes on the road to Eagle's Landing.
