Bears outshoot Stockbridge
The Griffin High School Rifle Team bounced back from last week's 1149 - 1133 loss to top-ranked East Coweta with a 1127 - 1058 win at home Thursday over Stockbridge.
Josh Bennett led the way for Griffin with a 285 out of a possible 300 points. Jeremy Moore shot a 283 and Joey Mabry fired a 281 to round out Griffins top 3 shooters. The other team scores came from Justin Lazenby (278) and Jessica McClain (276).
With three matches left, it is unlikely Griffin (6-2) will qualify as a team for the state meet. However, Mabry, Bennett, Moore, and Jennifer Lewis have each qualified for the state as individuals.
