Contact Juggling
Anyone who has ever seen Labyrinth will remember the funky playing with crystal balls that goes on. This is Contact Juggling, so called because the ball looks like it remains in contact with the hand/body of the juggler at all times
I started off trying to learn contact years ago as a young lil sprog, using a cricket ball. And suprisingly enough, cricket balls work well for practice because they have a nice weight, but a smooth hockey ball is better
These days I use 3inch and 3.5 inch acrylic balls, so it looks like I`m using crystal, with the added benefit that they dont break if they get dropped accidentally!
Still not particularly great with them, mainly because haven`t dedicated the time to the practice, but like many things I do, I'll get there in the end!
