Debut:Top Thrill Dragster will open later in 2003 at Cedar Point. It is one of the sixteen roller coasters that Cedar Point has. Cedar Point also has three previous world record holders: Millennium Force (310 ft.), Magnum XL-200 (205 ft.), and Gemini (125 ft.). |
Structure:Top Thrill Dragster's track is stiped red and white on the launch and has yellow suppotrs. After the launch, the track is all red. The trains are blue with red seats and yellow restaints. |
Special Features:Top Thrill Dragster is equipped with a hydraulic launch system that catapults riders from zero to 120 mph in less than 4 seconds. After the crest of the 420 ft. tall hill, riders plunge through a 270 degree twist down to the ground. The trains are stopped with magnetic brakes. |
Records:Top Thrill Dragster is the first and only "strata-coaster". At 420 ft., it is the tallest coaster ever (and only coaster over 400 ft). It also reaches a top speed of 120 mph, which breaks the speed limit on the Ohio Turnpike by 55 mph. |
