That last statement was forgotten by the next morning when Rodgers, the English butler, opened the downstairs library and discovered his employer's body slumped at his desk, a poisoned snifter of brandy in his hand. On the desk, not far away, was a handwritten note.
Rose Evergreen listened carefully to the young maid finish the tale and tapped her notebook.

I dont think it was suicide, Dora continued, I mean, the note didnt even look like his handwriting if you ask me. But Im new and young and no one listens to me and now I may have to return home since I dont have a job and my visa will expire soon.

Rose mulled over the tale as one of Jacobs officers gave her a tour of the house and the crime scene.

Here is the suicide note, the officer said handing her the paper. Also, Detective Brown said to give you this sample of Mr. DeGries writing.

She stared carefully at the note and compared it to the sample of Mr. DeGries' writing she was provided with.  Rose had to agree with Dora, the writing was much different. She knew it was murder as much as she knew her own name was Rose.
