My Life
Here it is, take it or leave it.
Entry for April 9, 2007

A lot has happened since the last time I thought to write about it.

Justin lost his job near the end of December and didn't find another one until recently.  It made for a stressful couple of months but fortunately we were able to make it through with a bit of help.  His new job is stacking produce at a grocery store on the other side of town.  It's a 1/2 hour round trip drive for me each morning to drive him into work, and he's not really enjoying the job, but it's work and it helps to pay the bills.

I'm still working at the Montessori school.  After I did the substitute job in the infant room last December I was hired on permanently.  I help out in one of the casa rooms (3-6 yrs. old) for an hour and a half every day and then spend the other four hours of my workday in one of the baby rooms (6-16 months old).  It's a decent job, I like the staff and the kids, but I'm keeping my options open to move on to something different.

We've added another creature to the house - big shock, I know, haha :)  Bruno is a black lab mix that we got from a foster home about a half hour from here.  His mom was a rescued dog and they found out she was pregnant when they took her in to get spayed.  Bruno was one of 11 puppies in the litter - we're not sure what breed the dad was but judging from the 3 pups who didn't look like labs I'm guessing doberman/rottie/shepherd type of dog (likely a mix).  Bruno's a sweetie, although I have to admit I'm very much looking forward to having the whole housebreaking thing over and done with.  Hopefully he'll be a good buddy for Boomer once he's had a little bit of time to grow up.

This is the last day of the 4 day weekend that I've been looking forward to for about a month... and the first day of it that I haven't felt like throwing up :P  Wasn't feeling the greatest on Friday but didn't really get sick until after we got home with the puppy.  I've spent the last couple of days either in bed, on the sofa, or in the bathroom.  Not exactly the kind of break from work I was looking forward to :P  On the up side ... well, at least I'm feeling better now and this upcoming work week is only 4 days long so that's still kind of a break.  Justin's sick right now, but with something different - I think he got the cold that all the kids at school have right now, I must have carried it home.  Thank goodness that warm weather is coming (eventually) to help kill off some of these germs, our immune systems could use the time to recover.
