The Simple Truth
This is absolutely everything you need to be clean and comfortable for an extended period. Handlebar bag on the left. Two small paniers in the center. Tent, sleeping bag and Thermarest at right. Altogether about twenty pounds, maybe less. The bike "in a pile" you saw before has been wrapped up into the white plastic bundle leaning against the tree. In the paniers (center) are one of two complete mix and match street outfits (I'm not standing here naked), one biking outfit, (laundry every night),a rain jacket, an extra tee shirt or two, lightweight fleece pullover, swim shorts, socks etc, and towel. This is it! There ain't no more! Don't bring any more than this. Make it easy on yourself. Whatever you bring you have to carry. How do you keep clean and comfortable with so few clothes? See LAUNDRY THE MOVIE. If you want a complete list of what's in those bags just click on them. If you discover you're missing something - there are stores. Pick up everything and walk away (slowly) with it.
