East of the city of Tours, imbedded in the limestone cliffs on the south side of the Loire are a series of trogodite buildings. There are dwellings, businesses, even a hotel, and of course a series of wine caves and a mushroomery. Usually they are just a front wall with a window or two and perhaps another window appearing in the cliff face and of course a chimney coming out the top.
