CHILD SAFETY: a guide for parents.
Did you know that in New Zealand, 13,000 children under five years of age are hospitalised each year because of injuries and poisoning? Many of these admissions are avoidable.
PRE-NATAL FALLS
Look at your home and, if you can, make potential fall areas safe. A fall from a changing area is one of the first accidents a baby can have. Organise the equipment so you will have all that you need right beside the table. That way, your baby won't be left unattended while you collect nappies and clothing.
