CHILD SAFETY: a guide for parents.

Did you know that in New Zealand, 13,000 children under five years of age are hospitalised each year because of injuries and poisoning? Many of these admissions are avoidable.

FALLS - 18 months to 3 years

Your child is now fully mobile and able to move quickly. Her abilities are greater now and she can get into an endless number of dangers at home and in the neighbourhood.

Your child could fall off play equipment, out of windows, down stairs, and off everything she can climb on.

Use stairgates. Use window safety catches above the ground floor.
