Caring
for Young Families - Whanau Awhina
CHILD SAFETY: a guide for parents.
Did you know that in New Zealand, 13,000 children under five years of age are hospitalised each year because of injuries and poisoning? Many of these admissions are avoidable.
CAR SAFETY, 18 months to 3 years
The best way to protect your child from injury in the car is to USE a child car seat every time your child travels in the car.
The driveway is dangerous: your child could be injured by a reversing car. Keep your child in a fenced play area.
Do not allow your child to play or ride his tricycle on the footpath or street.
