The Starship Trap by Mel Gilden
p137 ships that go through the Aleph come out at a random point inside the universe of universes, each in a different universe, sensors burn out, absorbs metabolic energy
p161 Enterprise comes back out of Aleph, face to face with Klingon warship
p162 pocket universe Klingon ship different from Kirk's normal universe - main sensor painted dusty rose. Triform symbol not on warp pylons, just a simple diagram of single circling planet or hydrogen atom, shape of disrupter cannon slightly different
p163 the Klingons that Kirk knew would not allow the Enterprise to pass without a fight
p163 pocket universe Klingon captain seems surprised, uniform of thin flowing stuff that was pastel green, lace on one shoulder with fringe of gemlike red teardrops
p163 regular Klingons uniform severe and sinister, darkly colored leather and rough cloth
p164 Uhura familiar with a few Klingon dialects, pocket universe Klingons speak completely different
p164 pocket universe Klingon captain becomes hysterical when Kirk introduces himself
p164 Kirk would have expected anger under these circumstances
p165 Federation knows very little about internal design of Klingon ships
p165 Kreega class of ship
p165 pocket universe ship is 90 percent similar to Kreega class, follow general pattern for deflectors and weapons
p166 Neither Kirk or Uhura has ever heard a Klingon say please
p166 Captain Iola of the pocket universe Klingee Association, knows nothing of any Federation
p166 pocket universe Klingee are masters of all, from our home planet to Kardoma's Wall at the end of the universe
p167 that the Klingee should be able to exploit pocket universe earth, where no animal life evolved, seems obscene to Kirk
p167 there were no Earth people to harm
p168 the Klingee claim everything in their pocket universe is theirs
p169 Klingee cyclor, spiral of orange fire, flings Enterprise away 500 thousand kilometers
p170 if the Klingee have such a weapon, the Klingons might be close to perfecting their own
p170 Enterprise must get home to warn Federation about possible new weapon
p186 Klingee fleet arrayed in battle formation, or perhaps just a pattern that satisfied their esthetics
p188 Ruho, commander of the Klingee fleet. Wears flimsy blue stuff, with more droplet shaped jewels dangling from his shoulder lace
p195 we Klingee are heartless brutes
p197 Captain Iola has secret object in his cabin he doesn't want anyone else to know about - embarrassing teddy-bear like object
p200 the Aleph is really only a complex twist in the spacetime continuum
p203 a ship that goes through an Aleph pulls the Aleph into the universe where the ship finds itself
p205 Aleph ultimate spy weapon, would the Klingons or the Romulans bother to ask ethical questions if they knew Aleph technology?
p213 real Klingons back in real universe, Klingons who would not be impressed by a simple trick like the one that routed the Klingee

First Frontier by Diane Carey & Dr. James I Kirkland
115 one man Klingon Spear ship, Spock doesn't recognize the signal, small, highly power-packed, 15000 metric tons, all armor and shields. Haphazard configuration, generally cylindrical, heavily armored nose section. Attacks Romulan ships at uncontrolled warp speed, destroys one. two Klingons beams aboard Enterprise
118 Romulans and Klingons are present and hostile toward each other in alternate timeline, humans never evolved, Vulcans, if followers of Surak, unlikely they would cooperate with the Klingons or Romulans, may have been subjugated or destroyed. It was hard to imagine the thoughtful Vulcans beating off the Romulans or Klingons or both all by themselves.
120 no candles glow, no chanting. Death dream, those last few seconds after detonation.
120 Zalt, Klingon, probably dead when Spear detonated, commander. Alive, eaten by dinosaurs in earth's primeval past Cretaceous era
eject harness missing. Detonator on harness activated by enemy transporter. Picked up by a home ship. Tiny buoy signal. When he was well he would tell of his success in destroying an entire enemy ship! Klingon scientists had struggled for a decade to isolate that pattern, to allow one particle of matter to be triggered by enemy transporter, would destroy enemy ship doing the transporting. refer to themselves as Spears.
his people and his enemies were two sides of the same blade. Blood chilled at the unspeakable torture methods Klingons used. Romulans know all about Klingon warrior habits and all about machinery and ships, no more tactics left to be discovered, except for the Spears. He is a ghastly liar.
let out a moan that would bend bones
recently tide of war had moved toward Klingons
127 Roth, seemed ready to shoot, ready to trust, alternating by the second. Pays close attention to attitude and intent, observant, scrupulous, willing to take each situation moment to moment
127 Mev! HlghoS!
Uhura has to come down and hang a personal universal translator on the Klingon.
Kirk pushed everything he had ever thought about Klingons, their tactics, their desires, their patterns of loyalty. The scalding hostility boiled to the top. Kirk tried to pocket the feelings a lifetime of dealing with Klingons
a Klingon who didn't know whether or not to hate Terrans
body armor design - pads, coils almost exactly the same exxcept for the colors
Klingon culture must have been unaffected until the past 100 years when earth people made contact with them
a war between Klingons and Romulans, relatively equal in technology, going at each other's throats without any interference or referee, no other parties in the settled galaxy able to stand them off, both cultures ruled by nothing but shallow parochial honor, but no principles it came down to resources and personnel and one side started whipping the tar out of the other.
Uhura programs translator but Roth afraid of earpiece.

in nature there are two kinds of life; the kind who fight and the kind who are food
in Kirk's timeline, even the Klingons are beginning to prosper in spite of their isolationism
there is Klingon in you, Captain Kirk
I see you are alive. I made no special attempts to live. I offer you my pity. Zalt injured arm, gory scar over one eye. Familiar contemptuous expression on face
leggings
Roth has always talked and talked, he talked millions of Klingons to their deaths
the voice of a humiliated Klingon is not a voice
Roth, by being a Spear, one of the walking dead, has saved his honor, his family's honor. Now they can go on without speaking your name. Roth will never have any honor. Some things cannot be fixed
156 the civilization on Tellar was obliterated by the Klingons for refusing to cooperate with the Klingons, used as an example of nonsubmittance, none left. Years ago
Roth was contaminated by Surak's ideas of peace, went to Vulcan as a regional surrogate, he put together a delegation of Klingons and Vulcans on an unauthorized peace mission to the Romulans. Romulans pretended sincere interest, but one of the Vulcans was a Romulan spy. Romulan ships got inside Klingon space, obliterated several colonies almost destroyed a whole continent on the Klingon homeworld, billions slaughtered. The Klingons turned on the Vulcans in angry retribution, the Vulcans cut them down
Roth reviled on Klingon as a capitulator who caused the enemy to prevail
Roth volunteered to be a Spear so his reputation would be cleansed. Zalt volunteered for all the right reasons - to harm the enemy, save his culture
162 Zalt overwhelms guards, the human blood had a smell to it. The human guards had put up a demon's fight. Steel ring on his hand with symbol Roth did not recognize, the symbol flipped up like the top of a box. Edge was a razor-sharp blade, only an inch long
the demon guards had celebrated their fight, come in with fire and joy, and gone down with flamboyance. Roth was gratified to have given them this moment
I will kill you myself if it were not a waste
Zalt determines they will do damage to the Enterprise
164 when the Klingons and Romulans and other hostile races appeared, the Federation had possessed the soundness to hold them off on a score of fronts
the Vulcans here were spacefarers, explorers and traders, when they first encountered the Klingons, who saw them as an easy prize. For many years heavy losses on both sides. Several times the Vulcans defeated the Klingons, but did not pursue and destroy them. the Klingons kept coming back, and each time there was a war. each time great loss. after a time the Klingons grew frustrated and presented the Vulcans with a rather one-sided treaty. Vulcans chose partial subjugation rather than life on the eternal defense. always under the watchful eye of the Klingon guard. the Vulcans slowly working to overthrow Klingons. subtly undermining Klingons and Romulans. Vulcans developed Spear tactic to keep Romulans from winning before Klingons were exhausted.
unfamiliar Klingon ships
171 the Klingons Kirk knew had wandered around the settled galaxy with a chip on their shoulders, boxed in by stronger powers, growled, and knew very well that they'd better behave. They postured, growled and threw things, but rarely had they been tested on any scale of battle
these alternate timeline Klingons were accustomed to fighting, their whole science was devoted to it. Smart, a sign of experience on the battlefield.
252 Zalt and Roth feel betrayed that Klingon scientific advancement had grated to a stop in all but space vehicle design and propulsion and weaponry, even that had been relatively static for years. While they and their fellow soldiers were fighting, nothing else was being discovered.
close your teeth and listen
swear on your honor. You have no honor left upon which to swear, so you can swear all you like.
282 Kirk can't read Roth like other Klingons he'd known. This wasn't the kind of Klingon he was used to, a whole new batch, a Klingon who differentiated between enemies, allies, and nonenemies.
285 theses Klingons are a society that survives, that is all they do. How we raise our children, how we use our resources, everything. There is nothing left except the necessities of survival. To be a Spear the greatest honor is not to tell anyone. The honor is depleted by letting anyone know you are walking dead. the remaining silent was harder than Roth expected. to know he was seeing his family for the last time. but he couldn't give it away or his family would remember him that way and his act would be a selfish one. we are enemies in your time, Roth has seen it in Kirk's eyes from the start. You are like us, yet you hate us. What are my people to you, Captain?
in Kirk's time Klingons are humans have struck an agreement. Because of that, the Klingons have prospered despite being hemmed in. the Federation hemmed them in. Klingons are combative and imperialistic. The cooperative nations of the Fed had to establish a neutral zone as a buffer and allow the Klingons to prosper as long as they don't encroach upon the rights of anybody else. there's even an element of commerce. Kirk's Klingons have a martial culture, but there's peace for everyone through our strength. Gradually they're doing business outside their culture, and it works for everybody. on Vulcan Roth was a treaty monitor. they live for more than just survival. He tried to change the Klingon pattern. It came to disaster when his truce was betrayed. He, a trained pilot, was disgraced but too valuable to kick out. His family was in shame. no one would speak to them. I could disembowel the emperor and I would still fly.
Roth's Klingons did not stop fighting among themselves until they found someone else to fight. He became a Spear to reclaim what shred of dignity was left to me. I wanted to find a way to kill myself by hurting my enemy, to die with respect. I would slit a thousand throats for one day of peace
293 Starfleet issue weapons emitted a red-orange lance of phasered light, different from any others, from Klingon, Romulan, or any other known destructive handheld energy emitters.
323 Roth attacks dinosauroid Oya when he realizes her manipulation of the earth's past has caused his timeline of Klingons to have no life, only slow death
338 jIyajchu' - qalehgh! - ghobe' - ghobe' vaj batlh Daqawlu jiH!! Mev! Mev!
Roth makes a dash for the control panel, trying to stop Zalt from reaching it. Zalt manages to fire the missile prematurely, dashing their chances of changing the timeline
I will make one more emotional act
343 Come here and face me, you low thing. the Klingon home planets and their moons
Klingons in this timeline - refusal to question what you see, refuusal to question what you want. If you want to kill, then kill. If you want something someone else has, then get it. If someone is in your way, enslave them or kill them. That's all we are! kill, eat and be eaten
Klingons in Kirk's timeline have imprisoned Klingons in their own space
Cry, victim
349 I have no proof but the satisfaction in my eye. I give you that.
Risky. I like it.

Yesterday's Enterprise
Enterprise-C last seen near Klingon outpost Narendra III. Presumed destroyed. 22 years ago. Garret sends distress call saying they were attacked by Romulans. Riker says no report of Romulans ever attacking the ship. Starfleet monitor stations report Klingon battle cruiser headed toward sector.
Looks like Enterprise-C was in a hell of a fight
Map displays Starfleet and Klingon positions
No other Federation ships in sector when E-C answered distress signal from the Klingon outpost on Narendra III. Four Romulan warbirds were attacking it, E-C engaged them. E-C hit by fierce volley of photon torpedoes. Picard’s history reports Narendra III destroyed, no E-C involvement. It is regrettable because a Fed ship rescuing Klingon outpost might have averted 20 years of war. In long war Fed has lost more than half of Starfleet to Klingons. The Klingons regard honor above all else. If the crew of the E-C had died fighting for the survival of a Klingon outpost, it would be considered a meaningful act of honor by Klingon Empire. Their death could have prevented war. In the here and now the Fed needs another ship against the Klingons.
Starfleet believes defeat is inevitable, within 6 months no option but surrender.
E-C much more maneuverable than Romulan ships of that era.
One Klingon bird of prey attacks E-C and E-D, killing Captain Garret, then recloaks. Will report Enterprise position to Klingon command.
Long range scanners have picked up Klingon battle cruisers on an intercept course
3 K’Vort class battle cruisers, bird-of-prey shape, not even bothering to cloak themselves, though they should, considering the pasting Klingons got at Archer IV. E-D could outrun the Klingons, but must stay to protect E-C. come in one after another and fire single volley and pass by. One ship goes after E-C. flank E-D, in attempt to draw them away from E-C. one Klingon ship destroyed. Klingon voice [not Worf] - Federation ship Enterprise, surrender and prepare to be boarded. Two Klingon ships fire on E-D while E-C goes into rift.

Dark Mirror
88 Mirror Worf, at science console, no sash. The face wore even more frown than usual, and it was graven deep, a settled look. Pain.
Mirror empathic Troi security chief
Picard got the odd feeling that this Worf might be more like the one he was familiar with than the rest of these people.
177 Mirror Worf’s eyes shifted to follow Picard, not a nervous look, but speculative.
Mirror LaForge used his engineering superiority to express his personal contempt for Worf – Get out of here, slave. Him? His people have lost any respect they might have ever had.
Worf merely looked at LaForge, his eyes surprisingly calm, and said nothing.
Worf – he’s quite right. The calm way that Worf put it had some unspoken tragedy at the bottom of it.
Worf – As for inferiors, like myself, he shrugged, and there was no tone of bitterness about the way he said it. To speak their minds to him would betray weakness. No one here betrays weakness and lives long to tell about it.
Worf – When one comes form a race that has submitted, there is no other way to be perceived by most of the population of Starfleet, or any Starfleet ships. A species that submits or is warred down is good only to hew wood and draw water. Slaves at worst, a sort of tame curiosity at best. After their long war with the Empire, out weaponed an outnumbered as they were, the survivors of my people decided that life was sweeter than honor. By surrender, they thought, they could at least purchase the lives of the noncombatants on the Klingon homeworld. Perhaps they deluded themselves by thinking that at some later date, resistance could begin again and honor could be regained; their descendants would live to fight another day. But a delusion it was. Their descendants have known nothing but the Empire for three generations now. At this point in time I doubt whether the fighting will happen on any other day at all. They have grown used to their position, perhaps wisely. For who can resist the Empire? Not that there is much of anyone left to try. My whole planet was discommended nearly a century ago now, when the Earth fleets first beat our own spaceforce back into our own space, cutting us off form our ally worlds and then destroying them. It was the last time our fate was in our hands, and we threw it away.
Worf looked dreadfully resigned, it was the face of a man discussing a cause lost before he was born, and unlikely ever to be found. It hardly matters now. I serve and am content to do that. And mostly I am left alone and that contents me as well. But I thank you for your show of concern. It is very kind of you.
The resignation and the pain again it was almost more than Picard could bear.
Picard could barely imagine the Klingons a conquered race, what kind of power did the Empire have to reduce them to this?
285 Picard realized that Mirror Worf knew, Worf looked back and never said a word. He doesn’t betray Picard to Troi.
Picard – How did you know?
Worf – Your manner. Your courtesy. They way you spoke to me earlier, taken together with the fact that you cared at all about a dead bodyguard. These have not been typical of your past behavior. Worf smiled grimly. Unlike the others, I can see the unlikely when it is under my nose, I would not have survived long without learning how to notice things.
In your universe, what has happened to my people?
Picard smiled somberly – They are a mighty empire, and our allies. Oh, we were enemies once; there were times when we had territorial ambitions that clashed, and our fears of each other’s strengths blinded us for a long time to the ways we might help each other. But the will to peace, and some happy accidents, brought us together at last. Now the Klingon Empire is prospering, and its people are a noble and honorable race. Nothing is more important to them.
Worf nodded – So it was once with us. But not for a long time now.
291 Worf was looking around at them, and Deanna got a brief mental image of a hungry man standing outside a window full of food. Fellowship. Honor. This would be a universe worth fighting for.
Picard – We think so, but it’s not too late for yours, Mr. Worf. If you and your people can be ready for it.
Worf’s eyes gleamed – A long time we have dreamed that things might somehow become better. But they were only dreams, no one ever took them seriously or did anything about them. however, to know that the dream is a reality, somewhere, anywhere.
Picard – The dream is alive. Maybe in 70 or 80 years we might put our noses back in to see how you are getting on. Or, if news of this technique for travel between congruent universes gets around, perhaps the Klingons will. I suspect that would make an interesting visit.
Deanna stuns Worf before they beam back to Enterprise.

Aged Worf no longer a member of the High Council. Wears aged dark leather garments. Sash over right shoulder. For their own safety Worf must refuse Pasture permission to cross extremely volatile Neutral Zone.
Worf snarls - If Adm. Riker had given them a starship with a cloak, they would have been safe. Hard to believe that even he would refuse to help you. My first duty is to the Empire, I must adhere to regulations.
Picard – The Worf that I remember was more concerned with things like honor and loyalty then rules and regulations. Maybe you’re not the Worf I once knew.
Worf spouts Klingon and pushes things off his desk – you always used your knowledge of Klingon honor to get what you want from me.
Picard yells – Because it always works. Your problem is that you really do have a sense of honor. And you really do care about trust and loyalty.
Worf – Very well, you may cross the border, but only if I come with you. I am familiar with the Neutral Zone.
Governor Worf beams aboard.

Adm Riker to Worf- I thought you had more sense than to send a defenseless ship across the boarder into hostile territory with no escort
Worf snarls to Riker – If you had not turned down the Captain when he came to you for help none of this would have happened. Unlike you I still have a sense of honor and loyalty.
Worf sits alone at bar at 10 Forward. This thing between Worf an Riker has been going on for over 20 years.

  Q-Squared by Peter David
p12 Narendra III - a Klingon outpost, a familiar name to Romulans and Cardassians. the Klingons claimed it was their outpost, when they established it over 20 years ago. Romulans held claim in contempt, still do. of the opinion outpost established purely for strategic spying through Neutral Zone. Klingons excel at prevarication, but Romulans know what their intentions were. it was a slap in the face to the Romulan Empire. Romulan Empire had no choice but to retaliate. clearly a test of Romulan strength. Romulan attack did quite a bit of damage, until Enterprise -C showed up. Selan, and other members of Romulan Emperor’s personal staff at Narendra III to observe. Romulans destroyed Enterprise-C after tremendous struggle. the Enterprise’s performance hastened the alliance between the Klingons and the Federation. that was a negative result, for the Romulans. the considerable damage done to the Klingons was a positive result.
p19 Klingon raiding party on Rombus III a young Klingon dressed in black with long wild hair holds bat'leth 'You are Selan' his fighting stance was perfect, lightly balanced on balls of feet, alert and relaxed. the rest of his group has disposed of Selan's guards. Selan may die fighting, if he wishes. Worf, son of Mogh, whose parents died in Romulan raid on Narendra III with he was three, has spent his life memorizing Selan's face as the one responsible. he wasn't actually responsible, but he was there, and that will suffice. if the other Klingons in the raiding party were making that much noise, than the likelihood was that all of the Romulans and Cardassians were dying, or dead, or wishing they were dead.
p23 the Klingon raiding party on Rombus III rescues the human survivor William Riker. new young Klingon Worf leading systematic raids on Klingon outposts over the last year or so, something of a firebrand, stirring up the Klingon Council, trying to get them to strike at Romulans preemptively, wherever and whenever. Worf's got a crew of Klingons who agree with him, his own little strike force. officially the Council is disapproving of their actions. unofficially esthetic. these are Klingons, if they don't secretly approve of what one of their own is doing, Worf would not still be alive
p92 Worf calls Deanna Troi Riker's home on Betazed to tell her husband William Riker is alive, having been rescued from Romulans on Rombus III. Lwaxana thought Worf was extremely rude to her. the Klingons penetrating gaze disconcerts Deanna. William Riker wears Klingon clothes after his rescue. Worf takes him to Terminus, to be picked up by the Enterprise-D. there is a Klingon freighter in proximity to Betazed that could be diverted on Worf's authority immediately to pick Deanna up to rendezvous with the Enterprise. The Klingon freighter departed from its detour to Betazed promptly one hour and 10 minutes later.
p174 young Tommy Riker didn't think much of the Klingon freighter - beds with no mattresses, inedible food. Tommy has had a dream, where Worf was killing his father William Riker
p184 Teffla, the Proconsul on Terminus, finds Worf utterly paranoid, he sees conspiracies everywhere. he insists on double and triple checking identities of all key personnel, he's constructed an elaborate password system he acts as if he expects attack at any moment. Worf has been guarding Riker as if his own life depends on it.
p185 Worf makes sure Riker bathes, as his stench was considerable even for a human. Riker looks at Worf with a sort of animal cunning that looked so crafty that Worf felt his opinion of Riker going up a few notches. If a Klingon tells you that something is preferred, then you damned well better prefer it that way, too. Worf is on the fast track for the Klingon High Council. Politics in the Empire are often incendiary. The Klingon-Federation alliance has been an exceptionally beneficial one. We all want to keep it that way. Worf, with his wild mane and fiercer mein, Klingon clothes with all the accoutrements and trimmings
Captain Crusher thudded his hand against his chest and then outstretched it in a fair approximation of the Klingon salute.
Worf - when faced with a difficult situation, the preferable course is to confront the problem, cut through it quickly and efficiently. Delicacy merely prolongs the problem. Appropriate for the powerful Klingon mind-frame, humans are more fragile
Worf has not had a great deal of contact with humans. Worf, master of subtlety and sarcasm.
p190 Worf - I have worked for my cause, and for my Empire. The manner of personal reputation I’ve garnered is irrelevant.
Considering the past incendiary nature of Klingon-Federation relations
Worf believes the Klingon Empire will never be secure until all its enemies are destroyed, and that the Romulans are planning major incursions over the next against the Feds, and are already engaging in covert activities to split the Klingon Empire. Anyone could be a Romulan agent
Worf - historically, a little suspicion can be very beneficial, a little laxness can be very fatal
p214 the Enterprise-C was last seen near the Klingon outpost on Narendra III
p247 Trelane - there are multiuniversees, with thousands of each person. That arrogant snot, Worf, included.
p273 Worf came to a decision  in a matter of seconds. His hand was at his belt and a moment later he’d snapped open the side blades of a d’k’tagh knife.
p278 had the Enterprise-C succeeded in its last known mission, battling to save a Klingon colony, then the war might have been averted. Or if the ship had been destroyed in the fight, that too would have been something the Klingons might have respected
p282 Worf with practiced ease, flipped the knife from one hand to the other and charged again. Worf roared in anger. Boxing a Klingon’s ears causes tremendous pain. Worf swung a gloved hand and connected.
Worf pulled the dagger out of himself, which was a mistake, because at least when it was in it was plugging the wound. Worf seemed oblivious to, or simply was ignoring, his injury.
p288 Riker, on his own, might have been able to outrun the wounded Klingon. Worf stalked down the corridor, he ignored the blood, ignored the pain. It was all secondary to his overwhelming drive his dagger at the ready, Worf decided on a full-blown direct frontal attack. With a roar he charged at the doors, he hit the ground, rolled so that any possible phaser blasts would pass over his head and came up ready for anything. With a furious snarl he started to move though the maze, vowing greater and greater revenge with every step
p298 fighting the good fight against the Klingon incursion
Worf leaped over the railing, roaring as electrical discharge struck him

The Way of the Warrior
General Martok gazed with the satisfaction of good drink at the lonely spiral that these days was called Deep Space Nine. Such a creature, that station. This was the first he had seen himself. An appealing design, this clawed monster. Three curved docking pylons downward like an insect’s legs in repose, three upward, like an insect in death. Martok smiled Ironic.
What to do against an enemy who could sneak away as the very clothes he himself might be wearing?
Martok sat in his command chair on the bridge of the Negh’Var and used Kaybok’s own ceremonial dagger to chip Kaybok’s blood from his boots. He found a particular poetry in doing that.
Martok was glad to be in his place as general of the fleet instead of chancellor.
Martok was emphatic, but there was a tinge of overstatement in his tone, as if he were desperately trying to agree with himself and hoping Worf would buy the performance.
the reopening of the Klingon sphere of power. Martok felt proud, lucky, to be the one orchestrating the rebirth.
Martok wasn’t much for secrets. They made him itch. They have never found a single changeling. Perhaps there are none.

The Visitor
Worf at Sisko’s memorial service. Dax felt responsible for Jake.
Tensions with the Klingons were continuing to rise. Bajorans took death of Sisko as sign that the Fed wouldn’t be able to protect them from the Klingons. Bajor entered mutual defense pact with Cardassians. The Klingons didn’t like that at all. If war broke out with the Klingons, DS 9 was going to be on the front line. Over a year passes.
Worf works with Kira. Urges Jake to leave.
After a few months the situation with the Klingons came to a head and the Fed decided to turn over control of the station to the Klingon Empire. five years after Siskos arrived.
15 years later Klingons agree to let Starfleet send expedition through the wormhole, in the spirit of scientific exploration, test the waters for the Dominion.
Almost 50 years after the accident, Worf threw his weight around with the Klingon High Council and they gave the Defiant permission to enter the Bajoran system. Elderly Jadzia Dax at helm, always a cup of coffee in her hand.

Spectre by William Shatner
So many intruders crossed over into mirror universe that Klingons and Cardassians established strict protocols to execute all such intruders at once. At least twenty.
Mirror Kirk had convinced Starfleet that a secret treaty existed between the Halkans and the Klingon Confederacy, so if the Empire move against that planet it would give the Klingons the excuse they needed to declare war. Within 5 years Kirk was head of Starfleet, assassinated Androvar Drake, became Emperor Tiberius. Intendant Spock engineered a bloodless coup, Tiberius escaped.
The Klingon Cardassian Alliance is a true political union, as consolidated as the Federation
85 Voyager’s current Alliance crew, 30 Klingons, 42 Cardassians, 3 Bajorans, 24 Thetas, Terran and Vulcan slaves who had earned trustee status
95 Mirror Janeway wiping blood from a Klingon mek’leth, then she expertly flipped the short sword around and slapped it against a sheath on her leg, so that the sheath closed over it like a thick liquid
101 it is the Cardassian nature to seek allies, bit it is not a common Klingon trait, except under exceptional circumstances. Tiberius was able to go to leaders of both groups, convince them to follow him to reclaim the Terran Empire. The most brutal war in the history of the known galaxy. World after world joined the Alliance. Its only purpose to erase Earth and Vulcan from the universe. The battle of Wolf 359 lasted three days. The combined Klingon/Cardassian Armada faced what remained of the Imperial Starfleet, 390 ships of the Terran Empire were lost. For four days a convoy of Klingon battlecrusiers did nothing but fire their disruptors into the Great Lakes of North America, boiling them almost dry, forever changing the atmosphere of the Northern Hemisphere. After the fall of earth Tiberius was never seen again. Spock negotiated the terms of Vulcan’s surrender.
Why would Klingons have disruptors set on stun?
These aren’t the same type of Klingons we’re familiar with
254 Krawl, a mirror Klingon, Delta shift overseer on the crossover device, young. Male
agonizer probe, whipped it from his belt, crackling inducer tips sparked with blue energy, set to kill
the ominous symbol of the Alliance, the Cardassian raptor whose wings embraced the Klingon triskelion
mirror Picard, resplendent in the battle armor of a Klingon regent, a regent of the Klingon Dependencies, not a lot of Terrans rise to that station. Wears Klingon style queue of hair at the back of his head
275 the mirror Romulans, in retreat, tried to activate the Children of Heaven on Chal as part of a last stand. Planet destroyed
319 Picard thought of Worf, pictured Worf, became Worf, to pass as Mirror Picard. He swaggered through the airlock. Two Klingons ran to him, their heavy boots pounded like thunder. One of them was Krawl, killer of ensigns
Picard marveled that a mere human, albeit his counterpart, had earned such obsequiousness from Klingon warriors
Two incandescent shafts of twisted golden energy writhed forward from the disruptor, splashing, flashing across his body like a ravenous liquid, engulfing him even as that light burrowed deep within, to bring hellfire to his eyes, his mouth, a dozen random places on his body, so that light streamed from him, dissolving him, changing him, if just for an instant, into a luminous being.
Krawl was gone before he could fall to the ground
Teilani’s elbow found the Klingon’s temple and crushed it with a single blow
The guard hit the platform without even a whimper or the sigh of death

Dark Victory by William Shatner
11 this Janeway had lived as a Terran slave to the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.
This Janeway burns with hate
21 the battle suit Tiberius wore was of Klingon design, smoothly sculpted to depict the heroic musculature of Kahless himself, dull metallic finish so deeply red it verged on black, built for easy of motion and the speed and grace and intimacy of hand-to-hand combat. Rounded jewels and bloodstones were embedded on the arms and across the chest. To any other warrior of Qo’noS they told the story of the wearer’s victories in battle.
To any denizen of the mirror universe it identified that wearer as the monster who had caused the deaths of untold worlds and civilizations, the madman who had lost an empire and consigned the people of Vulcan and Earth to abject slavery at the hands of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance.
No Klingon would bother opening a large black storage container labeled in Cardassian as dehydrated vole bellies.
Regent Jean-Luc Picard, the Klingon quisling
49 Tiberius allowed Regent Picard to carry Klingon mek’leth
79 an alternate universe in which humans and Vulcans had been subjugated by an alliance of Klingons and Cardassians wasn’t an existence Dr. M’Benga wished to experience.
251 an Imperial Raptor would carry Kirk deeper into the mirror universe. It was a squat black shape with forward-swept wings, spiked with red talons. A gaping maw filled with bloodstained fangs was painted on both sides and the forward viewport had been outlined in lurid circles of scarlet and saffron and violet
263 your tendency to faint or fall asleep at the drop of a Klingon’s arthk’R
278 eighty years earlier, after the mirror universe’s Battle of Wolf 359, in which the Imperial Starfleet of the Terran Empire had been destroyed by the Klingon-Cardassian Armada, the armada had advanced to earth, in four days of constant bombardment Klingon disruptors had dried the Great Lakes of North America.

  Preserver by William Shatner
56 Tiberius explained how he had escaped from Earth, personally brokered the Alliance between the Empire’s greatest enemies, the Klingon Empire and the Cardassian union, 10 months later the Alliance Armada had met a weakened Imperial Fleet at Wolf 359, decimated it, and advanced to Earth. Obvious that the Klingons and Cardassians would betray Tiberius, went off in hibernation ship for 78 years.
Hibernation ship discovered by a Klingon research vessel. Tiberius awakened. The Klingons brought them back for war-crimes trails on Qo’noS. en route a female Klingon historian had succumbed to Tiberius and helped him escape.
Indendent Picard captains Enterprise for Tiberius
223 in the mirror universe once Starfleet had learned that a Klingon occupation force was on Organia, no attempt had been made to liberate the innocent Organian people. Instead, three ships, including the ISS Enterprise had disrupted the surface of the Organian sun to induce a huge increase in solar flares. The ensuring megastorm had sterilized the entire world in hours. Flesh and blood Klingons and energy based Organians alike had perished. The Terran Empire considered the brutal obliteration of an innocent planet an appropriate lesson for the Klingons. no mater how savage the sons and daughters of Qo’noS believed themselves to be, the Terran Empire was prepared to be more savage. But outright war had been averted
293 Mirror Tiberius convinced Starfleet that the dilithium reserves on Halkan did not exist, that they were bait laid by the Klingon Confederacy, which had a secret treaty with the Halkan Council. If the Empire had moved against the Halkans, the Klingons would have had the excuse to launch all-out war. After the Battle of Worf 359 in the mirror universe the Alliance helped itself to the dilithium and destroyed Halkan

13 the Boreth, a battlecrusier of unmistakably Klingon design. Deep purple exterior, sharp edged half-diamond of the cruiser’s combined engineering and propulsion hull to end in a wedge shaped bridge module. Studded with thick plates and conduits, long central spine.  Angular Klingon  script ran beneath the modified Starfleet emblem. Angular engineering hull of the advanced-technology Klingon battlecrusier. Large irregularly-shaped Klingon viewscreen. Hard Klingon chairs. Dark, rusty walled Klingon hallway. Boreth’s bridge was large, not very Klingon. Typical Klingon oxidation stains.
Picard kills Romulan with bat’leth Worf gave him
81 as the Fed and the Klingon Empire suffered outright acts of terrorism and overt military strikes, Romulus was attacked from within
112 Garak had learned the fate of Cardassia from two young Klingon soldiers, he had noted their intense interest in observing him. They had never seen a Cardassian before.
122 Future visor phaser extremely efficient. Leaves both hands free to use a bat’leth. Worf explained the visor operating system was similar to the helmets worn by Starfleet warp-fighter pilots in their own time.
159 Nog is now a captain
Worf – You do honor to your family and to your father.
Then Starfleet formality between Klingon and Ferengi broke down as Nog spread his arms again and Worf embraced the diminutive officer in a bearhug that Jake knew could fell a sehlat.
215 Worf – I know my parents have passed on to Sto-Vo-Kor. I know my brother died in the evacuation of Lark 53.
I would rather die battling my enemies than wait passively for the universe to end.
The Empire was destroyed. The Empire destroyed itself. Project Looking Glass. The Klingons were so proud of it. while the Fed fought a holding battle against the Ascendancy, the Empire was to prepare a safe haven from the destruction of the universe, in another universe. In the Mirror Universe the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance was in disarray and easy to overcome once the Prime Directive was suspended. The total population was much lower.
It is not like my people to plan for defeat.
The original intention was to send a Klingon fleet into the Mirror Universe, fight its way to Bajor, then reappear in our universe behind Ascendancy’s lines.
Worf grunted – A worthy deception. It sounds like the work of General Martok.
Chancellor Martok.
The first exploratory  and recon missions were flawless, every replicator in the Empire and most of those in the Fed were requisitioned to create transporter pads to transport warriors and goods to the other side. That effort took two years. The fleet, the Armada, moved out from the Empire in the Mirror Universe, heading for Bajor, while in our universe, to counter any suspicions, Earth entered into negotiations with the Grigari. Grigari attacked earth.
When word reached the Mirror Universe that the Grigari had attacked here before the Klingons could attack there, the fleet turned around to come to Earth’s defense. In that state of confusion as its mission changed,  a second Grigari fleet attacked there as well.
Enormous complexes of transporters were on all the major worlds of the Empire. The Grigari used those transporters to move weapons from Mirror Universe into ours, weapons which detonated in place and tore apart worlds, rendered atmospheres unbreathable and collapsed entire ecosystems. The Grigari had known exactly what was planned.
Slightly more than one million Klingons left alive in this quadrant
Many Klingons went off on suicidal mission to assuage survivor guilt and die in battle, or accomplish some great victory, in order to ensure that a relative lost in the destruction of the Amada might find a place in Sto-Vo-Kor.
Chancellor Martok was with the fleet, on the flagship The Heart of Kahless, wiped out to the last warrior. He died with honor.
The Klingon colony worlds were used to create the Armada in the Mirror Universe.
Worf – This future cannot be permitted to happen. We must go back somehow and prevent this.
278 Worf hit by three disruptor beams, almost killed. Taken to Phoenix sickbay, treated by entire holographic team, even though they weren’t programmed for Klingon physiology. Superficial burns.
330 Iromodic Syndrome Picard sometimes has conversations with Worf
345 the Phoenix had no medical equipment set for Klingon physiology, what would have required 15 minutes had become a week long ordeal of daily bandage changings and the constant threat of infection. Jadzia was clearly worried about Worf’s weakened condition. Thick bandages wound around his torso.

B and Janeway stay behind to see if they can fix the warp core breach.
B breaks into sickbay after fixing it at the last second. Her left arm, shoulder, injured. She had to crawl through 31 Jeffries tubes on 5 decks from bridge.
For the last few weeks B has been setting up holoemitters on critical decks to allow Doc access to other parts of the ship. Decks 1-5, engineering, mess hall, cargo bay.
Takes 20 minutes to get system working.
B – I’m going to head down to engineering and try to get some of the critical systems working. You’ll hear from me when I get the comm. system unless of course this doesn’t work, in which case I’ll see you in about 5 seconds. Good luck, Doctor.
B gets comm. system working a few minutes later. Gets to work recrystalizing the entire dilithium matrix to get warp core on line again.
B holds phaser on Kazon when he is taken to sickbay.

her fierceness was fading into curiosity
Finally, Torres said in an explosively loud voice
Chakotay – You’re making this difficult

Paris – I thought your were a wiz at engineering
She glared at him so fiercely he had to take a step back. Never mess with a Klingon, he reminded himself. Never.
When Janeway’s transmission comes through Torres blew out an explosive breath. I’ve never been so glad to hear someone’s voice in my life.
2410 parallel universe to the right
page171 Only Torres still seemed to have a bit of energy left. It was her Klingon self, all focus and determination in the face of adversity. Somehow it seemed to give her more reserves. The new Torres sat up immediately and pushed away from the bed, keeping some distance between herself and Torres. They studied each other with narrowed eyes.
page188 Torres was not comfortable in her own skin. Being faced with another version of herself seemed to be almost more than she could tolerate. The two women had growled at each other as they passed and neither had made any conciliatory gestures. Torres’ inability to cope with another Torres upset Janeway the most. Those were the two who had to work together. If both their powerful minds were focused on solving this problem, then Voyager might have a chance at changing the course of the crisis before them. If the Torreses did not get along, then they could destroy everything
the only real difference between the two women was in their forehead ridges. Torres’s stood out slightly more than Torres-two.
I don’t believe in the word can’t Torres said, her voice ringing with challenge.
Neither do I, Torres-two said, but sometimes facts are facts.
B – Every place looks idyllic without people.
page200 Torres thought her counterpart needed a completely different name, not Torres-two, stupid, something Klingon, that established her as the other, as not-Torres. Torres hated having her here. The woman was arrogant and stubborn. Her brow ridges were too sharp and so were her eyes. She seemed to think she knew everything and that wasn’t possible. She came from a different universe, and everything about her was wrong. Except, the way her hands flew over her console, she clearly did have engineering skills.
They growled again, softly, then turned their attention to their consoles
Apparently her mind was as capable as Torres’s when it came to doing two things at once
Torres-two’s mind was already several lightyears ahead of the conversation. Torres knew how that worked. She had done it herself everyday, infuriating her ensigns
So that was what people saw when she was working at top speed. No wonder they stayed away.
One Torres could make wonders of engineering happen. Two could create miracles.

Endgame
B’E, Federation liaison to High Council. Janeway helps House of Korath get a seat on to Council. B’E’s daughter, a Starfleet ensign, reports to Janeway, she’s been working on project for six months.
Adm. Janeway visits planet location of House of Korath, Ens. Paris and two Klingon males greet her. One Klingon complains in Klingon that Janeway’s demeanor was disrespectful. Ens. Paris calls him a p’takh and tells him if he didn’t show Janeway more respect Paris would break his arm.
Janeway – You’re your mother’s daughter.
Korath has modified a Cardassian disruptor to emit a nadion pulse.
Janeway wants to take chronodeflector device in exchange for all the trouble she went to to get Korath seat on council. Korath refuses. She leaves.
Janeway comes back
Soldier announces her – [cc] mak-tah hoon Janeway ghuy’cha.
Janeaway has reconsidered
She’ll give him the shield emitter but not until she’s inspected the chronodeflector device Korath’s offering, to make sure it’s genuine.
Korath – Are you questioning my honor?
Janeway – If you were honorable, you wouldn’t have changed the terms of our agreement.
Soldier guards operate various pieces of Korath’s equipment, but they’re slow on the uptake and the draw and Janeway makes off with chronodeflector device.
Korath – You’ll pay for your deceit, ghuy’cha! and the House of Korath won’t rest until you’ve drown in your own blood.
Two large Klingon ships attack Janeway’s shuttle, Captain Harry Kim comes to her aid with the Rhode Island. Voyager closes the rift on the Klingon vessels.

11 B – It always makes Tom nervous when I have to tap my Klingon blood. The High Council asked a lot of questions. I told them the truth with a Klingon twist. I told them my beloved former Captain who saved my life many times in glorious battle would consider it an honor to submit Korath’s House for consideration. I may just be the Fed liaison, but I’d like to think I have some influence
Ens. Miral Paris, daughter of Tom and B.
37 a Klingon fortress on a crag bound moon. Few humans allowed to pass within such monolithic repositories of survival and tradition. Klingons were volatile and not particularly resourceful, so when they found something that worked they stuck with it. such was the case with rock shelters. They still used them. Tell tale odor of synthetic rock.
Miral welcomes Janeway firmly and loudly, to establish beyond doubt that Janeway was to be accepted here.
Klingon – Guv’ ha gor! Nu’Tuq mal!
Miral – P’Tak! Gaht bek’cha tuq mal gun’mok!
The Klingon fixed his hands into a set of claws at his sides but otherwise made no other threats. Miral skewered him to some silent promise. Miral beamed but managed not to smile. That might have been taken by the Klingons as a sign of weakness.
Miral has been working on this for 6 months. Possessiveness over an assignment went along with Klingon nature.
Few people truly understand the tenuous nature of dealing with Klingons more than those with Klingon blood, Klingon rage surging through their veins. The surge of temper, of passions and determination, involuntary drives of single mindedness were sometimes indescribable. Miral embraced the mystique of her ancestry.
For a species that considered themselves rebellious, Klingons did all they possibly could to look alike.
Old man Klingon image, long gray hair, uncombed, brow ridge that got more prominent as Klingon’s aged, body armor and uncomfortable clothing, sour attitude.
At the side of the screen Klingon text scrolled ceaselessly.
Janeway held herself very still. Klingons might take any twitch as a signal that they had some advantage psychological or otherwise or any movement as sign of tension. They might interpret unease in any number of ways that would work against her.
Raggedy Klingon Empire
Korath wanted to be able to look down on all the other Klingons from the only pinnacle that meant anything to him.
The Klingons here already? Korath had more influence than he thought. Of course Janeway’d just put him on the High Council which hadn’t hurt his ability to muster fire power.
Korath – The House of Korath wouldn’t rest until you’ve been drown in your own blood.
Janeway had dealt with so many aliens and such varied psychologies in the Delta Quad that handling Klingons was a picnic.
Even a hothead like Korath knew better than to chase her.
A Klingon temporal deflector.
55 the Klingons roared in blazing. No talk, no threats, no deals. Two Klingon disruptor streams crossed in space and mutually detonated. The Klingons tried again to triangulate on her and ended up blasting each other’s disruptor streams. Once they almost raked each other wing to wing. After the near collision they paused firing for a few moments, trying to get her into their scopes without boxing each other in.
Janeway – Well, Korath, when you hold a grudge you really hold it high. All I did was bruise your pride. You have your payment in full. You would never have attained the position you have now if not for my influence.
Korath – You and you alone make a threat to my people.
Klingons do not dance.
Korath obviously wasn’t a skilled battle leader or he wouldn’t have been so easily distracted. the lead ship wasn’t giving the second ship a firing pattern. Whoever was in charge of the second ship was smarter or maybe just more experienced than Korath. The second ship anticipates Janeway’s next two moves and opened fire.
Harry and Rhode Island disable one Klingon ship, and with a bitter strafe roars after the second.
