		We spent just a few days in Paris (Thurs-Sunday) this past month. We took the TGV non-stop train to the Gare de Lyon in Paris. We bought our tickets at the SCNF office in Grand Place and we got 50% discounted rates because of Zach. They give you 25 or 50% discounts (depending upon availability) if you purchase a child's pass ( I think it was around 50 Euros). We made last minute reservations and it was hard to find a place to stay. The French Open Tennis finals were this past weekend as was the Rugby championship match. Paul found a place online @ the Holiday Inn in Montmarte. He used priority club and got a better deal than if he hadn't been a member. The hotel was nice and clean. The bathrooms were huge by Paris standards. The location isn't bad, but you have to do a lot of walking to any of the major attractions. The cab fare from the train station to the hotel was 21 Euros. Cabs charge extra for luggage and strollers. The weather was perfect. Sunny to partly cloudy with cool breezes. Rained just a bit on Sunday. There were no crowds to speak of. You get a 2.50 euro discount if you enter the Louvre after 15h00. We spent just a few hours in there and that was enough for me, but if you really like to see everything, you'll definitely need more time. The Arch of Triumph is really impressive. You can go to the top, but we didn't for fear there was not an elevator and we had the baby and his stroller. NOTE from Robin: The Arc de Triomphe does have an elevator, but it is reserved for those who absolutely can�t navigate the stairs � not just for those who don�t feel like it! You just need to ask at the desk when you buy your tickets. In this case, the Jantz� would have been allowed to send Zach up the elevator with one of them, while the others walked up 280+ steps! I think they will also let you leave the stroller down by the elevator and keep an eye on it for you, but you�d need to verify this. Contributed by Paul and Kristi Jantz
