The Island of Grenada (and Southern Eastern Caribbean Islands) is being
approached, from the east, by a well organised tropical disturbance. This system is bordering on
Tropical Depression categorisation. This means the the system contains winds
of speeds around 20+ knots and moderate to heavy convection. This system will
also produce rough to choppy sea.
This system is expected to begin it's impact on the island about 6:00pm
tonight (Wednesday) with a gradual increase in cloudiness with light showers followed by increase in showers
some of which may be heavy and occasionally continuous as the evening ensues. These activities will intensify by
10:00pm. Winds speeds will increase to around 20 knots in moderate severe thunderstorms.
Residents are asked to stay indoors as lightning from thunderstorm clouds may
be severe and damaging. Additionally residents on riverbanks and levies are
asked to seek temporary accommodations away from the rivers as flooding in
flood-prone and adjacent areas are more than likely.
Sea craft operators and sea bathers are strongly discourage from any sea
faring activities between 2:00pm to day and 12:00 pm tomorrow.
This Watch will be repeated on your favourite radio station throughout the
day.
