On the January 30th edition of WpW GoldPush, GRENDEL captured WpW Tag Team Gold with his "Mystery Partner". For weeks leading up to GoldPush people thought the partner was none other than former CEO of WpW Tyger Lilly. But at the beginning of the show the two made it clear that they are partners, but Lilly wasn't the mystery partner. GRENDEL came out first and after several different themes songs to tease the crowd, finally "Cat Scratch Fever" began to play as "The Strike Back Kid" Shawn Michaels came out as the mystery partner. GRENDEL and SBK went on to win the Tag Team Titles, and after the match SBK made his announcement that he was going to be in the Rumble match at Roy Lee Rumble. But GRENDEL inturupted his partner with a GRENDELBomb. EMT's came out to the ring followed by Tyger Lilly who slipped SBK some sort of picture while he was being carried out. Lilly then grabbed GRENDEL by the arm and forced him to the back. Why did GRENDEL attack his tag team partner, who was the picture of that Lilly gave SBK, for these answers and more stay tuned to WpW.

On May 29th, 2005 at the biggest pay per view event of the year, GRENDEL won his first championship in the WpW. GRENDEL defeated Reynaldo Sanchez and Chris Bennett is a triple threat match for WpW's Big Gold Championship.
