Old Futhark
Inguz

Inguz was the youngest of the 3 sons of Uruz. And he had been to young to understand anything of the situation.
He thought that his mother had died because of his oldest brother. Because he had left them. He hated his brother for it. He now only had Laguz, but then he betrayed him too.
Growing more silent with every new bad thing that happened to him, he said nothing anymore.
At night, he couldn't help but crying of the lose of everything good that he had had in his life.

When he was old enough to leave his father, and you can be sure that he counted the days until he became 15, he wanted to go find his oldest brother and clear out some things. Perhaps he would find death on the way, and then his miserable life would be over, and he would be free from all pain and emotions.

But it didn't come that far. He never got robbed, nor did he got attacked. He just travelled from town to town in search of his brother. And then he found him. Now perhaps everything would end..
With that in his mind, he went into the woods and searched for the druids. He knew he would only find them if they wanted to be found, but eventually, after a few weeks in the forest, he finally found his brother.

When he found the secret community, Ansuz, his oldest brother came to him, talking to him like nothing was wrong and nothing had happened. But Inguz knew better than to fall for that silly spell.
"What's wrong Inguz?" So he wasn't stupid after all. Inguz thought.
Inguz looked at him with wet eyes. Then he spoke with a raspy voice. "It's been years since I talked. I will only talk to you and Laguz. No other." He hoped that his brother would feel his pain, feel responsible for it.
Ansuz looked at his younger brother, but said nothing so that his brother could go on.
"Ansuz.. Our mother died some time ago. Actually after you left us."
"I didn't leave you Inguz."
"Really? How come that you went away when we needed you most?" His harsh voice was shaking of emotion.
"Uruz took me in my sleep and dropped me here. I've been here ever since."
"I missed you. We need you Ansuz." Inguz fell in his arms and cried and cried. So he was weak, and he had fallen under his spell.. Perhaps this was better, and maybe he was telling the truth. Druids had to tell the truth didn't they?

When they went to look for Laguz, they had a change to really talk, and he felt better for some reason, and started to believe him completely. But that meant that Uruz, his father, had lied to him. Inguz couldn't trust him, how could he ever had trusted him.

When they found his brother, in the harbour far from home, they could see that everything was going well for him. Why had he left him? He could have come with him. But nobody wanted him. Not his mother, not his father and not his brothers. He was alone.

At first, Laguz didn't want to come with them, but eventually he caught them when they had travelled for weeks and were almost home.
Inguz could feel that his feet were getting heavier as they got closer to home.
He hadn't meant to come back.. But here he was, on the doorstep of his fathers home.

Ansuz and Laguz did all the talking, and he stayed on the background. He didn't want to interfere. He just wanted to get out of this house and leave it.
But what should he do then?
He felt that he was a coward. And he hated himself for it.

The army, that would be the best place to lose his cowardness. He felt the pain when he was hit by a sword, and he loved the pain, because that made him stronger.
But he couldn't sleep at night. He always cried at night, remembering his mother and how it once had been.
Laguz told him that he was there for him, but how could he trust him? He had left him..

It was time to leave for the battleground. He would be happy if he would be killed there, but a dragon, large and strong as it was, took them to a wonderful place. He felt happy for a moment, perhaps now the time was their to sleep at night...
