Sensei Wade Hobbs
Sensei Wade Hobbs began his martial arts training in 1969 at the age of 5.  He trained in Shotokan karate for 7 years under Sensei Jerry Kattawar in Greenville, Ms.  At the age of 12, he received his Jr. Black Belt.  His family moved away for three years, and upon returning to Greenville in 1979 Sensei Hobbs  began training in Isshinryu under Sensei Bill Coppage.  He advanced from Ku-kyu to Shodan under Sensei Coppage.  While he was training, Master Larry Dreher was always visiting the Greenville dojo and influencing those training there.  In 1983, Master Dreher returned to Greenville as the chief instructor. 

Sensei Hobbs received his Shodan in 1983, was promoted to Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in 1988, and to Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in 1993.  He was recently promoted to Yodan (4th degree black belt) in 2004.    Sensei Hobbs also competed in full contact fighting in the R.K.A.  He appeared on ESPN many times as Wade "The Hammer" Hobbs.  He was M.K.A State Champion in 1982, 1983, and 1985 and was a runner up many times.

Today, Sensei Hobbs devotes his time to passing on his love of martial arts, and the knowledge and skills he has acquired in his lifelong journey.  He once said, "As long as I have even one student who is willing to learn, I will continue to teach."
