Iconian Syllabary
The Iconian script was used by the Iconians approximately 200,000 years ago by the iconian people and is still used today by the Dewan, the Dinassians, the Iccobar and Zibalians.  The script has two forms, The standard form which was used for millenia and is still used by the Zibalians, and there's the simplified script which evolved from hand writing and cursive forms.  The two scripts were used to write the iconian langauge in tandom for many centuries until the collapse of the iconian empire.  The standard script was used more in official documents and monumental inscriptions whereas the simplified script was used in public media and has handwriting.
       The script is syllabic, there are 5 types of basic sign;
4 symbols are used to write the four individual vowels /a/, /i /, /u/ adn the neutral vowel or schwa (written e)
54 symbols represent consonant - vowel (CV) syllables.
18 symbol represent individual consonants and consonants either preseeded or followed by the schwa.
27 symbols are used to write VC combinations
and finally 9 symbols represent CVC syllables.
The direction of writing is from left to right top to bottom in horizontal lines, spaces are used between words, though grammatical affixes are treated as parts of words.

NOTE: The informatioopn on this page is based on a pre production graphic that was intended to be used for the Iconian script, all though info from it was used in the final episodes (TNG season 2 "Contagion") it wasn't seen as it was on the graphic, I will post data on this at a later time.
