Kiss Me, Lab Rat

Part 12

The new talk of the Crime Lab was the surprise turn of events as
everyone found out about Nick and Greg being a couple. There were a
few that didn't seem to like the idea that Nick The Ladies Man turned
out to be in love with a man. Of course, it was mostly the women that
were bemoaning the lost of another stud to a younger stud, taking not
one but two men off the market.

Catherine just laughed inside every time she heard the women. If only
they had really been watching they would've known that not only was
Nick never really on the menu but Greg was all over the menus, men or
women. What had surprised Catherine was that Greg had scratched
himself from the menus so fast. She worried a little about how the
party boy had jumped into Nick's bed and home then stayed.

That was until Nick and Greg walked in for their next shift. Not only
were they early but the smile and light in their eyes told of the
love that they felt. Their steps light and airy as if they were
walking on clouds reminded Catherine that she had felt that once a
very long time ago. Now she wished that they would never know the
other side of that feeling, the one that comes when love is no longer
enough or is now one-sided.

Catherine turned back to the stack of reports. The last couple of
days and nights had been slow so Gil had thought it was a good time
to work on reviewing the old cases. Everyone hated this and right now
Catherine was wishing for a little action to take her away from it.
And in her job that's bad because too often they get more than they
want, much more.

A few hours later Catherine needed a break from the stack of reports.
So far the night had only one call and Gil had sent Warrick with Sara
on it. Catherine decided that now would be a good time to stock up
her field kit. The fresh air would do her good.

She walked to her vehicle and made a list of the supplies she needed.
The first stop was to pick up the paperwork that she needed. Once she
had all the forms and labels she walked back out and put them away in
the file box. Catherine walked back inside and headed for the supply
room. She didn't notice the shadow watching her.

Catherine had pulled almost all of the things on the list off the
shelves and placed them on the cart just inside the door. Her back
was to the door and she was in the back part of the supply room lost
in her search for the last item. She stood up and turned around
having just found the item as Warrick reached her. Catherine lost
hold of the item at the sight of him.

"Do you still want to know what the more creative uses for this room
are?" his voice a tantalizing mixture of the normal tone and the
voice of a stud about to land his prey.

Their eyes locked as she nodded, her voice caught in her throat.
Warrick's right hand lifted her chin as his left slid around her
waist and pulled her to him. His lips touch gently to hers for a
brief moment before claiming her month. Her arms went up and around
his neck as her body started to melt away.

His voice deep with passion long held in, "that's one of the more
creative uses."

Warrick then let go of Catherine as she gained her footing again. He
stepped back and started to move as if to leave.

"So, you kissed Gil?" she was surprised that she had found any words
after that kiss.

"No, Jim was entertaining Gil in here." Warrick stared at her in
disbelief, "don't tell me that you don't know that Jim and Gil are
lovers! Cause I won't believe you."

"But it would explain why Jim was on your case all the time."
Catherine was surprised again that her mind was working at all after
that kiss. "So what did you catch them doing?" She batted her eyes
and silken her voice.

"It'll take more than one kiss for me to tell you that," he cooed
back.

The next thing he knew was that she was in his arms and they were
locked in one of the most intensely passionate kisses that he had
ever had. They leaned into the metal shelving unit. It was a good
thing that it was bolted into the walls and floors.

Catherine held tight to Warrick as they parted to breathe, "So how
many more kisses do you need before spilling the details?"

"How about we meet after shift to work on the conditions for the
spilling of said details?" Warrick was still leaning on the unit but
Catherine had gained her footing.

"Your place?" Catherine inquired.

"Sure," Warrick agreed with a grin, eyeing her butt as she picked up
her last item. As she headed out of the room she stopped at the cart
gathering the rest of the supplies into an empty box then left
leaving a recovering Warrick. He left a few moments later, scanning
the hall for any witnesses.

The supply room was once more available for use.
