| Hitting: Honolulu's Chuck Knoblauch drove Hal Newhouser's first pitch of the game over the outstretched glove of Dave Winfield and the wall behind him. He was hardly done for the day, as he would draw 2 walks, stealing second and scoring both times. He even hit a 2 out triple in his last at bat, but was stranded with the Islanders up 6-2, that was the final. |
| Pitching: Roger Clemens hurls 6 innings of no hit, shutout ball, striking out 4 and issuing 4 free passes for his second win of the year. Curt Schilling then enters the game in relief to give up a walk, and San Jose's first and only hit of the game, a line shot off the bat of JD Drew. San Jose followed with two sac flies, scoring Drew and spoiling the shut out for Louisville as well. JR Richard would finish the game without allowing a single baserunner and striking out 3 over the final 2 1/3 innings.
