Highs and Lows from 5/16

For the second straight game the Memphis Kings pitching staff has gotten the job done. This time it was Brett Saberhagen throwing 7 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 6 hits to push his record to 2-0.

Colorado Springs Aces survive a dominating performance by Indianapolis starter Tom Seaver to come back and win in the bottom of the 9th 3-2 on a Kiki Cuyler 2 run double off Clowns closer J.J. Putz.
Cuyler said, "I knew he was going to throw a fast ball on the first pitch, since he walked the previous 2 hitters to load the bases" Kiki continued," When a pitcher is struggling with control that much, they have to go with the heat. Then it was just a matter of seeing it and smacking it over the CF head and that was the game."

Robin Yount is a single short of the cycle and has 3 RBI as
Louisville finally gets their second win. Roger Clemens goes 8 innings giving up 1 run.
To follow up they, finally have a breakout game - 10 runs 14 hits. Bill Joyce leads the way, going 3-4, HR, 3 RBI

When asked about his teams 18 run performance in game one of a split doubleheader in Austin, Jacksonville manager Lou Brown had only this this to say, "It's starting to come together."

Virginia Beachs "M" boys Mays-McCovey-McGraw are playing great ball. The rest of the guys must think we are still in Spring Training, since team is leaving Hawaii or just too many exotic drinks.

For the second time in 4 games, the
Tulsa Dust Devils lose 2-1. Eddie Murray strands a total of 10 runners in the two games.

Jason Giambi of the
Po' Boys continues his roll.
He has hit in all nine games so far, with 12 RBI and a 1.116 OPS.
