The team that works for me covers a lot of ground: Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Logistics Support. I really work with all departments, mostly through cross-functional projects as SAP Implementation and Six Sigma.

Supply Chain Management

This year the big change is shifting to just in time procurement, use of third party logistics and web enabled vendor management of inventory…all part of optimizing the supply chain to increase velocity.

ERP 2000 Implementation

Last year's big project was implementing SAP globally in eleven manufacturing locations…got all the modules online at once…in nine months.

Six Sigma

Just getting started at M/A-COM. This year we have at least twenty projects nearing completion. We are training over twenty-five black belts that have to date saved the company about three million dollars.

Customer Measurement System

Working to provide frequent pulses of the voice of the customer into the organization, preferring interviews to surveys at this point.

Father of three GREAT daughters. They are the loves of my life. Being a good father to them is the one non-negotiable in my realm. I have had other loves, but those have not worked out as well. That last fact might be due, in part, to being a product of one of those classic childhood trauma scenarios of which my generation is so proud. Vital statistics:

I am a voracious consumer of culture. Whether it is music, movies, or books, I nearly always have someone's ideas/creations on tap to build a broader, better me. I especially crave: history, physics, science fiction and fantasy, current events, melodrama of the spectacular kind and drama both poetic and tragic. My political and spiritual orientation is liberal. I seek heroes, in the past mostly, but will settle for a Larry Bird or Carl Sagan. I have been and continue to be a work in progress, seeing my self as something yet to be formed but possessed of significant potential. One of the ways I try to realize both the self and the potential is via writing, samples of which can be found liked to my home page.
