Ideally, money is suppose to represent resources put into benefitial action. But to get to the bottom of most of the problems that plague the flow of money, and thus resources getting to where there would be of the most benefit; one basically needs to divide money into two types. Money that represents the natural resources required to make something work, and the money that represents the required modification, or cultivation of the natural resources to make something work.
The ideal state, and likely our natural goal, is to have everyone have an equal amount of resource money to work with. The culture part will always be much more dynamic. Much of a culture's expression is like words of a language. Each expression has a healthy time and place in the interaction of the whole. But they are seldom, if ever, all equally expressed at the same time and place as a state of harmony in this limited creation.
With the two ideally seperated, then the rich cannot simply take the required materials of the poor as their whim. Not doubt originally, wealth helped to protect a nation state, etc., from the whims of a oppressive neighbor. Now days though, most of the protective powers are in the hands of a common government. So the rich presently only have a large influence in the area of the prevervation of a healthy culture. So let them go ahead and have at it, in the individual's resource protected limited sense, and let them compete all they want, as far as I am concerned. If it starts to oppress, people will have the freedom necessary to not buy it, and rather buy into what seems healthy to them; to the detriment of those excessively investing cultivation efforts and substantive material, to the contrary.
