Often my mind will wander
And the pain in my life I will ponder
And all of the sadness that I have collected
For all of those times that I've been rejected
Will show me how much a soul can hurt
They can show mw a sensitive mind so lonely
Alone, but knowing that true as it be
There is hope in all of the sorrow within me
There's a driving force that will lead me to tomorrow
And it gives me the strength for another day
It's a love deep inside that caresses my soul
A belief in oneself that much work must be done
And the outcome will be that I'll be connected as one
And contempt with the fact that I have a good heart
I will give all that I can and fulfill a worthy part

There's a child within me who is happy with glee
With his spirit so free and innocent
He will dance with delight in the shadowy moonlight
And will harmonize songs with content
A smile he'll bestow as he dances to and fro
With the wind in his hair fresh and cold
But no matter how far he might stretch to the stars
He will never lose sight of what he holds

He will sail wildest oceans and shout out his name
And will cherish the sound of an echo
And when he comes home and settles down there
He will think of more places to go
More challenges there will be waiting ahead
More dreams to go chase and to see
For he'll never grow old and he'll never lose faith
Because that is the child within me
