Prison sucks. You only get basic cable and have limited gym privileges. Some prisoners bitch about not having enough 'stuff'. Here's a News Flash: You're in prison, you're not supposed to have any 'stuff'! Idiots everywhere buying books written by inmates who then make more money in jail than they did before they killed a building full of orphans... or nuns... or innocents anyway. Hey... jail's starting to sound pretty good :)
Nonetheless, it's generally accepted that jail is bad, but if you want to kill someone, and you live in Canada, and you're under 18... you are in luck, my friend! See, apparantly 17 year olds don't understand their actions, so if they shoot someone in the head, they get 6 months in Juvy and they're back on the streets! What a sweet deal! You should definately get in on this offer, but it's only available until you turn 18, so act now!
I guess kids can't be held liable because they are brought up with evils such as TV and Video Games. Hey look, you can kill people in this game! That means the game is blurring the line between fiction and reality! We must ban this game at all costs because we're so stupid that we think kids will kill in real life just because they can kill in the game!! And movies and plays haven't been doing that since the dawn of man! (Now that's sarcasm)
So anyway, it's called the Young Offender's act. Like any law made by any government it's convoluted beyond hell. All I know is no one under age will ever get punished... for anything... at any..any. Get in on it now or you'll regret it when you're older and that guy you hate is still around.
Update: I was reading through this again today and I want to make sure I get my point across. This article is a sarcastic rant against the Young Offenders Act. Why should young people get away with killing? You should be severly punished for murder regardless of your age. I hope you readers agree with me on this...
