Any Beverage that Costs over $5 is a Beverage I Will Not Associate With.

I hate Starbucks.

Starbucks is pretentous. God forbid they call their sizes Small, Medium, Large, that's not distinguished enough for today's pompus jackass.

Are the coffee beans any better at Starbucks than any other place? I'd do a taste test... but then I'd have to buy a $5 cup of coffee from Starbucks, a steep price if the beverage were alchoholic, which it isn't.

I hate to admit it, but once I was in a Starbucks with my family and I got a $3 hot chocolate. It was honestly not as good as the powdered hot chocolate I have at home.

The cup said "Careful, the beverage
you're about to enjoy is extremely hot". Oh great, so you're already telling me that I'm going to enjoy the hot chocolate, but yet when I drink it, I notice it actually doesn't taste as good as a 25 cent mug that I could have "brewed" on my own with instant powder.

Now we're in a contradiction. This corporation is telling me that I will enjoy their hot chocolate, and yet when I drink it, I feel it is substandard.

I have a running theory that people go to Starbucks just to prove that they have enough money to do so. They pretend they like the coffee just so they have an excuse to flaunt their wealth.

Or something.

Update: Here's what one reader (or should I say "the reader") sent in:

I think the only 5$ Drink I would pay for is a milkshake from friendlies... which I did a few years back... and I don't regret it at all... because I kept going back for more.

Other than that, a HUGE think of gatorade would be worth $5... but I've never seen said HUGE thing of gatorade... but $5 is what it would be worth

This person brings up some good points. I never heard of this "Friendlies", but I do enjoy the occasional milkshake and could imagine one theoritically being good enough to cost $5.

As for the gatorade... well, if we're talking about one of those vats that players dump on their coaches, then yes, that would be a substantial amount of Gatorade.

I still stand my ground about $5 refreshments, but some non-coffee related drinks may qualify as an exception to the rule.
People drank at Starbucks just to piss me off.
