Go RVing? Pursue this!

RVs suck.

I hate all the commercials coming out for RVs. The latest one goes something like this:

"
in you backyard, theres a fence. In blah blah, fence fence fence.... but when you go RVing, there are no boundries..." BULLSHIT. Want to have weekend by the lake? Well, you can't do it with just an RV. This isn't some magical world were lakes appear and whoever gets there with an RV can settle in for free.

According to the
Marketing Dept. of the RV industry, RVs save money. Yes, driving around at 10 miles per gallon does nothing but save money. Taking a road trip but don't want to pay for an airplane? Just take your bloody car.

What can you do in an RV that you can't do in a car? When the RV is moving, it pretty hard to walk around without losing your balance, and when it's stopped, chances are you'll be in a restaurant or a hotel, in which case you won't be using the RV anyway (the hotel probably costs less than the fuel and insurance prices and is certainly more confortable).

Then there's some total garbage about using an RV to rough it out with mountains and such. Makes me want to puke. If you want to rough it out, why would you take an oversized trailer (or "RV") with you when you can just drive there in a car? In fact, the RV is actually limiting your freedom because it makes it harder to drive around the rougher roads.

Not that it's any more intelligent to drive an oversized SUV over such mountains. I vaguely recall an SUV commercial that goes like this:

"
You are driving your new [some shitty company] SUV over the mountains to meet your friends. It's a treacherous route but you know your [same shitty company] SUV can handle it. Finally, you make it"

And then she meets all of her friends in some cave. Why? If you're not even going to hike through the mountains, why even bother going? For a change of scenery? Stupid.

Both SUVs and RVs have one thing in common. They both encourage you "pursue your passions" and visit the widerness.
It's perfect irony. If everyone pursued their precious passions, the wilderness would die because of all the fumes coming out of these gigantic..... Damn, after "pieces of trash" and "peices of shit", I can't think of anything.

Buying all these expensive vehicles is a waste of money, and before you email me
(not that you would, you should have better things to do) with "WELL YOU HVE TO DO SOMTEHING FUN WIT MOENY DUMASS LOL" consider what's more fun: taking your existing car to the wilderness and then hiking on foot, experiencing nature first hand, or just driving though it like an asshole? That's what I thought.
RV commercials have made me want to get up and change the channel.
