| SouthBound Brass was formed in 2003 by four of Laurens County's outstanding musicians. The have pleased audiences with their rich, finely blended sound, and interpretation of songs we all love. The name SouthBound Brass reflects the group's belief of no matter how far they are away, their hearts will always guide them back home to South Carolina. The group performs a variety of music including Inspirational, Blues, Dixieland and many more. |
| Member Biographies |
| Gregg Hinton, Trumpet, has been a member of local groups since graduating from Laurens District 55 High School in 1999. He is currently a member of Emerald City Jazz, based out Greenwood, SC. He has been a feature performer in many church and community events. At the age of 18, Gregg realized his love for teaching music and has been giving private instruction to people of all ages. |
| Shawn Pennington, French Horn, is promising musician being the youngest amd the most promising member of the group. Shawn is currently attending Laurens District 55 High School and began his arranging career while just a sophomore. Shawn is now starting up his sneior year. |
| Andy Entrekin, Euphonium/Trombone, has a degree in music education from The University of South Carolina. Andy is currently teaching middle school band at Gray Court-Owings Middle School and Hickory Tavern Middle School. |
