As you can see, a couple of scenarios (Florida over OSU, and OSU over UCLA) will force the implementation of our tiebreaker method of whoever comes closest to calling the total points scored for the championship game.

Speaking of the tiebreaker method, there is also the chance for a tie for a much less prestigious honor, that of the $5 refund for last place. Heading into this weekend, Julie "Whatever!" Sheedy, holds a slim 3 point "lead" over Pam Kobin, Corinne "300" Watterworth, and Allyson Gentil.  Corinne and Pam are kaput, with no possibility for picking up any additional points.  Julie still has Georgetown left and Allyson has OSU left. If Georgetown loses, Julie finishes in last place. If OSU loses  though, that will mean we'll have a 3 way tie for last place.  As this is  uncharted territory for us, what we'll do

is utilize a "reverse tiebreaker" from the one above.  As indicated, to determine 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place we go with whoever is CLOSEST to guessing the total points scored.  Since this scenario involves LAST place, it's only fitting that the tiebreaker be whoever is FURTHEST AWAY from guessing the total points scored, you know, in the true spirit of loser-dom.
I will be out of town next week, so I'm afraid payouts will have to wait until April 9th for the winners. And that works out great since the following deadbeats still owe me money:

*WARNING: SPOILER TALK FOLLOWS!!*
Here we go. Four teams. Three games. That's all we have left. It's depressing, really.  And no, I don't mean the fact that this year was my worst showing ever. I mean what the heck am I supposed to follow until football starts up??

*sigh*

In any event, as I try to do every year, I've taken the liberty of mapping out all 8 possible scenarios left to us. They are all outlined below. Keep in mind though, this is UNOFFICIAL.  I'm pretty sure they're correct, but I have been known to make a mistake or two ... or considerably more ... in my life.

37  Has Georgetown winning

THE FANTASTIC FOUR
A special farewell to rookie participant, 'Surly' Tom Hurley, who retires today from the Great American Insurance Company after 29 years of service. Good luck, Tom!  Not sure what took you so long to join the basketball pool though ...

The lineup for tomorrow's games looks like this by the way:
  6:07

  8:47
#2 Georgetown vs  #1 Ohio State

#2 UCLA vs #1 Florida
When Greg Oden faces off against 7'2 Roy Hibbert, it will mark the first time he's played someone bigger than him since 6th grade
