Oh brother, where art thou? First place, that's where!
IT'S THE EYE OF THE TIGER!
LSU  OUSTS TEXAS IN OT!
(Related story: Commish puts off retirement!)
First off, yes, I did root for Texas over LSU in yesterday's overtime epic. This despite the fact that a Texas win would have given my wife a great shot at winning this thing of ours. And even though this would have meant  that I could have ended up facing the prospect of  Mrs Commish lauding this over my head for the rest of my career and forcing me into retirement, I sucked it up for the good of the family and rooted for her team to win.  So much for that though.  Incredibly poor shooting on behalf of the Longhorns did them in down the stretch, where they were fortunate to force overtime in the first place,  and then again in the extra session where LSU pulled away for a rather easy 70-60 win. And so now Glen "Big Baby" Davis and  the rest of the LSU Tigers are off to Indianapolis next week for the Final Four.  Nobody puts Baby in a corner!  (I'm sure Sarah Comerford got that one)  And I, my friends, will no longer need to "pull a Paul Tagliabue" and hang up my commissioner spikes.

LSU's opponents next week will be the UCLA Bruins who beat. the days "other" Tigers, #1 Memphis, by a score of 50-45.  Even though the score suggests a relatively close game, the Bruins jumped out to an early lead and while it never got out of hand, you just never thought that Memphis was going to catch them. And obviously they didn't.
The Elite Eight continues today with the following games on tap this afternoon:
After yesterday's games, a check of the standings finds a somewhat familiar (last) name atop the leader board, none other than my brother, Chris, who is sailing on his maiden voyage in our pool.
Even though I'm done, I've still gotta root for Villanova so I can try and finish in the top 10. It's all about saving face
He's got his own brotherly crosses to bear in this pool
Hasta manana.
