For those who don't know who Steve Bartman is, he is the poor schlep of a Cubs fan who absent-mindedly interfered with Moises Alou's attempt at catching a foul ball in a playoff game a couple of years back vs the Florida Marlins. This allowed the Marlins  to open the floodgates and comeback to defeat the Cubbies on their way to winning the World Series in one of the most infamous moments in sports history. Bartman was forced to go into hiding and his name is now synonymous with evil in the state of Illinois.

Well, now he's got company. And his name is Craig Antas.

With Carolina's 75-70 win last evening over Illinois, Craig ended up winning our pool by virtue of the total points tiebreaker as he had guessed 147 points compared to runnerup Don Legare's 177. However, Craig,  for those who don't know, is an Illinois resident and an avid Fighting Illini fan and when it came down to crunch time and filling out his bracket he ended up with an Illinois vs UNC scenario and he picked ... team with the most career NCAA tourney victories NEVER to have won a championship. Nice job, Craig. You jinxed your team and cost them the National Championship. I suspect you'll be going into the NCAA witness protection program this morning? Also, I was contacted by one of the local Chicago bars wanting to know if they could buy your selections from me so they could blow them up? What's that all about??

So Craig wins it all, but loses his soul in the process. Oh wait, too late on that ... he's an attorney. Don Legare continues his run of hard luck in the big games (right Karen?), and Brian Farrelly wins money for the second year in a row. The Commish ends up in a respectable 9th place overall.
