| Much like the Hindenberg, disaster reigned this evening as the upstart Syracuse Orangemen, lead by frosh phenom Carmello Anthony, dashed the hopes of the Kansas Jayhawks. And oh yeah ... the hopes of me, your beloved commish, also. Even though it was only 2nd place money at stake, it still hurt nonetheless. |

| The Orangemen came out flying from the get go, employing an up tempo �run and gun� game that left the Jayhawks flat footed and clearly threw them off their game. Kansas came out swinging in the 2nd half and mounted a furious comeback that got them within striking distance at the end as they had a couple of chances to tie it, but they couldn't get it done. Unforced errors eventually killed them as they threw the ball away and turned it over in every conceivable fashion. From passing the ball out of bounds to not even shooting 50 percent from the free throw line, Kansas has noone to blame but themselves. All this of course means that Bill O�Keefe is the big winner this year as only he and Melanie Dobrowski had the foresight to pick Syracuse to win the whole thing. Corinne Watterworth, in a bittersweet moment, has to settle for the 3rd place money. The final leaderboard looks something like this: |
