| Well, actually no, Stymie. It's not my lucky day. It would have been my lucky day if Texas had knocked off Syracuse last night. That would have ensured that either myself or daughter Lauren finished in first place. But NOOOOOOOOO .... as so often is the case with me in this pool, twas not to be. For the 3rd straight year I'm denied. Thanks in no part to pal, well former pal, Kevin Garvin who ONCE AGAIN called me on Saturday night and put the whammy on me. He caused Indiana to upset my Oklahoma squad last year and now he put the kibosh on Texas. In an impressive performance, Syracuse freshman Carmelo Anthony scored 33 points to pave the way for the Orangemen setting up a Monday night showdown against the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas reaches the finals by virtue of a 94-61 win over Marquette which was the Final Four's biggest blowout in 24 years. This one was over midway through the first half. |
