11th Annual Great American NCAA Basketball Pool (be afraid, be very afraid)
"Over? Its never over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?!!" - John "Bluto" Blutarski

With all the idealistic naivete' of a young Bluto Blutarksi, legendary radio host "Sebastian" this afternoon was still apparently clinging to the mistaken belief that he stood a chance of winning this year's NCAA pool. All this, despite the fact that his selection for champion, Illinois, went down to defeat in the 2nd round at the hands of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame ("...shake down the thunder from the sky"). In an on-air conversation this afternoon with the pool's commissioner, Sebastian attempted to map out some sorta far fetched Butler over Wisconsin type of scenario that would allow him to pull out the victory. Just let it go Sebastian ... just let it go.
Joining Sebastian on the sidelines is Cincinnati Reds fan extraordinaire, Sarah Comerford, the only other pool participant to throw their support behind the Fighting Illini. Good thing baseball season is here Sarah. It'll help take your mind off your NCAA woes, ay? And don't worry .... all those folks who had Florida and Wake Forest will be joining you too. And hey, did i not say Florida was going out early???
For those who believe in omens, we interrupt this update to bring you this important Jack Dennehy Nintendo NCAA update. As some of you may recall, 6 year old Jack Dennehy (pictured), is an avid fan of Nintendo NCAA basketball. Well, the J Dog (as he is sometimes known as) played out the NCAA Tournament this past weekend and as expected Pittsburgh, lead by 3 point shooting phenom "Hobson", beat Kansas for the championship 115-67. Hobson lead the way with 109 points for the Panthers.

The top 10 at this point shapes up thusly with Mark Murtari and Mary Sawicki sharing the top spot with 52 points:
After a mediocre performance thus far, The Commish is in the clubhouse with 41 points and shares 89th place overall. I do however have 6 of my final 8 remaining including my entire Final 4, so we're cautiously optimistic. Holding down last place in the race for a $5 refund is Dorothy "we're not in Kansas anymore" Canty with 29 points, 5 points ahead (?) of Judy "Garland" Cosgrove.
While I'm thinking of it, I'm going to give you an early heads up. I will be out of town on business Sunday through Wednesday next week so there may some delays next week with updates. Also, please be sure to check your scores and bring any discrepancies to my attention. Lets get em out of the way early, folks. And finally, if you owe me money .... get it in. Sincerely yours, Der Kommissaar
