MY CAT
This is my new cat named Wicca. We found her at a fourth fo July party in Queens, NY (which was actually on the third) this year (2004). She just wandered into the back yard of the house the party was at and started socializing with the guests as if she had been invited. She is only a kitten of about 8 weeks or so (as of these photos), but is very intelligent and clean. She had no collar and has a scar on one of her legs indicating that she was likely a stray. But nevertheless, we found that she is either very intelligent or has some house-training.
For example, we set up a litter box for her and found that she knew what it was for without ANY training on our part. Basically, I poured the litter into a short cardboard box (like what soda cans come in) and she started using it with no mistakes.

She is extremely hyper, although she is getting more toned down. She sleeps perhaps 5 hours at night and is playing pretty much non-stop the remainder of the time. We bought some cheap cat toys for her but she seems to prefer even CHEAPER items like rolled up tissue paper and yellow post-it notes.
We had to get her aquainted with the other 'livestock' at our house. We have 3 birds, a turtle and a dog named Lobo. Lobo is a very gentle dog to humans, but is somewhat agressive to other animals. He has seemed to adjusted to her pretty well, as he does not bark at her hardly at all anymore. She only hisses and raises her fur if Lobo acts jumpy around her or if he barks at the door or outside sounds. She has actually done her adorable nose-to-nose 'kiss' with Lobo without incident. I try to keep them together in the same room whenever I am home so they adjust and this seems to be working. I estimate that in another month or so they will actually play together.

This page will be a record of our cat's learning experiences and the methods of training that we use. I will continually update this page sequence throughout her life.
