Installing a Powerdyne
Supercharger to Replace the Eaton M90
The Eaton MP90 Supercharger is not a
good fit for a CLK55 5.4L engine.
Ideally, I would like to move to a bigger roots or a twin screw
supercharger. However, with a side
engine mount we have no room. Below is
my next move with the installation of a Centrifugal based supercharger from Powerdyne. I liked
this unit because it is quiet. The roots
based Eaton M90 HPS decided to use sounded like a plane engine. There is nothing wrong with the Eaton, but it
is best installed within the intake manifold and not to the side.

Below is a pic with the
intake cover removed.

Below is the custom aluminum
bracket I fabricated and the completed install.
The intake to the supercharger was fabricated from plastic 3.5inch pieces. The exit was made from two separate cast
aluminum elbows. This is the part I need
to work on. It’s best to have a smooth
path with no sharp turns.

More to come on the final results later.
