Welcome to the
World
Samuel Charles Greer

The time is flying by at the Greer household these days at least when they are spent with Sam.  He has passed the six weeks mark and continues to learn more and more about his world.

Sam loves to smile and loves for you to smile back!  The accepted method of communication between Sam and the rest of us is grunting.  I figured out the other day as I was getting out of the Bronco where some of the grunting came from---age or physical condition causes Dad to grunt too.

We have made several trips to visit family members that couldn't make it to visit Sam.  We have visited with Grandpa and Grandma Reeves and Mam Maw Louola.  They all just adore Sam.

Papa and Grandma Ruth have been to visit several times along with Aunt Diane and Uncle Johnny, Aunt Jade and Marmie, and Poppa and Aunt Doris.

Samuel Charles Greer was born at The Women's Hospital at 1:59pm,
October 27, 1999.  He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Lots of pictures were taken including the one above and this one of a tired, "I'm glad they left me alone" Sam.

Why Samuel?  Samuel is the name of at least two of our Sam's ancestors.  Samuel Greer is Baby Sam's 5th great-grandfather and Samuel Reeves is his 3rd great-grandfather.  Samuel Greer was the father of Riley Greer and Samuel Reeves was the father of Ambrose Reeves.

Santa's little helper visited his larger, more bearded boss for the first time on the 22nd.  Both were delighted.
