Pollution & Emission Reducing Tips
Think Hybrid for your next car purchase or if it�s too expensive, become Carbon Neutral (plant trees to offset your emissions). There are also hybrid trucks, and motorcycles. Other vehicles such as snowmobiles, sea-doos, boats, lawnmowers, etc. cause emissions too, but I am not sure if there are hybrids yet.
If you can't afford a Hybrid car, buy a car that is more fuel-efficient and produces less emissions and saves you money.
Change your oil frequently and make sure your car is tuned.
Recycle your engine oil.
Make sure your tires are properly inflated.
Keep your wheels properly aligned.
Put a plastic grocery bag in your car to collect trash and another one to put recyclable items in, when full, you can empty them. Maybe even a grocery bag for food scraps, and when you get home, put them in the compost.
Buy a car without air-conditioning, but if you do buy one, only use it when extremely hot.
Car maintenance. Fix problems as soon as possible.
Use a push lawnmower instead of a gas powered one if you have a small enough yard � you save money on gas, lower emissions and get your exercise.
Use the service of environmental-friendly delivery companies that use hybrid trucks: FedEx, Purolator, etc.
