R-E-S-P-E-C-T just like the Aretha Franklin song, "Respect" ~ Oldies ROCK!

"I think we're in a really weird place as a band because we are a band, and we always have been, but a lot of people don't realize that. I want people to hear the name Hanson and think credible, musical, creative music. That's what people should think 'cause that's what it is it's just about the music." ~ Taylor
When it comes to music, and Hanson, all I can say is "Wow, they are amazingly talented young artists." When Teenieness (aka, Pure Hormonal Stupidity) took over me and subsided quickly. I realized that I held a lot of respect for them, considering that they are already in the music business, a garage band at their age's dream of being at. What more can you say about that?! Music, music, music. It has always been about the music to them, they've repeatedly have told us. And I think that's fairly true. I have been on pages that have mentionings of the car that Isaac drives (which does not really interest me because I 1, don't care about cars, and 2, I'm not one who'd stalk him *shudder* that's just stupid there, too), to seeing the clothes they wear. The money appears not to be the important asset of the job. It's all about creating and doing what you love to do. :) Of course we know of the changing times from "Mmmbop" to "This Time Around" to some of the newer songs onto the upcoming LP, "Album Y" or "Underneath" (I think that sounds cool *says it outloud* "Underneath...yeah,") will be somewhat drastic, and all unique. For example, "Man from Miluakee" was purely a fun kid-sing-songy kind of song, just fun, while "Sure About it" and "Hand in Hand" took more of a darker turn in the path, considering toneal quality, and subject matter. There is absolutely nothing wrong about it. If you want to go on about anaylzing their style basing them from their clothes, that's a little silly, but it can sorta be done. My analasis: they dress like artists. *sarcastic smile* What the heck, I dress like that in a way, and considering some the jacket and shirt or two that I have, I would have to keep them away from Taylor (and the coat from Isaac), in fear that he'd like to check it out. ;) Anyway, a mark of an artist usually is that they don't worry about having the frivilous Ambercrombie or Gucci stuff. They get what they feel comfortable with. Aw, hooey, you can just go to a consignment shop and pick up some nice stuff, too. I get jealous of some friends of mine that can get all this awesome stuff that I can't coz it doesn't fit me. XO Back on the subject, I know I digress a heck of a lot, but anyway, another mark of an artist is the continious changing in their style, how it never stays the same for too long. I get yelled at by my best friend about how I don't keep the hair right on some of the Bio-Rev. characters, but that's because my style, like any artist's, musicinan or not, will always change. Right now I am in full support of Hanson in whatever direction they take on their future LP's, performances and whatnot. The only thing that I disagree on though is the smoking which I rant about in another section, but I feel that if this is just a way to say "Hey! Look! We're old enough to smoke! We're not the little "Mmmbop" kids anymore!" That's just foolish, and we would expect them to have more sense than that, like they have shown that they have several times before.. I just hope that's not their reason. Anyway, what is so great about them so far is that their music is not created while being under the influence, as other people have been, which is good. If you have something that you enjoy to do, why take up something stupid like drinking or drugs, I ask? Final Analysis: The boys are genuine artists. ;) The only problem that they'll seem to always have though I think is how they humiliate eachother what seems purposely in public, for show. Hey, what can I say? It's a sibling thing. I do it to my little brother when his friends are over and then he does it to me. Sometimes, I will even be fortunate to get to "perform" for public, family friends, and family thanks to my little brother. Hey, we've seen it. They're nicer to eachother though than I am to mine, and mostly, you don't really notice that until you sit and think about it for a little bit. That alone ~ the patience they have with eachother! That alone deserves respect! Don't any of you out there with younger brothers or sisters notice that, too? I sure do. :) Ah, siblings. Gotta love them. Home.
