Russell Crowe and Martha Stewart: A Good Thing?

Background . . .
We have poked a lot of fun at Russell's enormous affection for his flannel shirts. Since that began, flannel has taken on a whole new meaning for us. Registered User " BBNY " had a magazine article to share...

Let's pause for a Russell/Martha Stewart moment...

Now THERE's a combination to give you pause.

By now most of us have incorporated Russellmania into our home decor. Those denim slipcovers, the bronzed (yet still delightfully stinky) Blundstones filled with sunflowers in the corner, the chandelier made out of earrings which are themselves small chandeliers, large fuzzy faux tiger pillows tossed artfully on the floor, the wolfskin throw on the recliner...but I digress.

The Oct. 3rd Woman's Day magazine ( U.S. women's mag with cooking and home-organizing tips, very wholesome, no gossip) has an article called ( I'm not making this up) "Mad About Plaid: So Nice To Come Home To ". Four color pages, folks; all the plaids look suspiciously like Russell's shirt collection.

They offer directions for pillows, a footstool slipcover and a table skirt. Also ( wait for it ) plaid flowers, seat and back covers for tired-out chairs, a plaid bedroom motif for a man or boy and .....plaid cookies..." ...a few bites of whimsy you can produce in a flash by using squeeze tubes of colored icing from the supermarket ".

Oh, I forgot about the throw (which is actually rather lovely; one side blanket-plaid wool backed with paisley corduroy - I just disagree with the wooden buttons ...wouldn't they hurt and dig in just the wrong places? ), book covers, plaid design on wooden chest of drawers, and plaid plates with leaf designs.

You know I just HAD to share this with all of you!

Reply Martha Stewart

bbny - ROTFLMAO! The thought of RC and MS together! ! I say she should devote a whole show to RC's decorating/fashion flair. Let's see - sample question "Dear Martha - Is it fashionwise to wear flannels before Labor Day? "

RC and MS - It's a good thing! !
