Inspiration bit me after looking at the graphic of Logan and Marie from Firefly by Heather. Heck, inspiration always hits me after reading Heathers work. She has such mastery over the characters and their relationships that it blows me away. I highly recommend anything she writes, even the Logan/Jean stuff. If it's Logan-ish, Im there.
[Standing up] Hello, my name is Green Owl and I am a Logan-holic. So back to the picture: the set of his shoulders suggested weariness, perhaps even disgust with his surroundings. It seemed perfectly appropriate for him to stop off in Laughlin City to pick up some money to fund his search for answers in Canada, so I sent him there. This is Logan between X-Men and X2, wandering and temptation is constantly crossing his path. And in the back of his mind is one young woman who wears the last piece of his identity around her neck. Everything else becomes cheap and meaningless in the face of his commitment to her. Nicks wrote this song in 1975, the same year that she wrote Rhiannon and Landslide. I would say that her creativity was at its peak, restrained as she was in the day-to-day care and feeding of her then-lover, Lindsey Buckingham. Apparently, Lindsey went on tour with Don Everly and Stevie was left alone for some time. This song was the child of her fears and apprehensions, a dedication to the brilliant, beautiful man she loved and did not trust. I chose for this hundred to have a different feel. Logan always struck me as a one-woman kind of man, especially if he was lucky enough to find a woman capable of responding to and thriving on his intensity. |
