Id like to preface this behind-the-scenes look at one hundred words by saying that Rogue had been my favorite female character in the cartoon during the early 90s and Wolverine was hands-down my favorite male. Never in my wildest pre-pubescent dreams did I ever think that they would get together. Thank God for Bryan Singer!
You should have been there on Tuesday night. Six Logan-lovin ladies were shushed by the entire theater when we gasped as Mystique opened her little Pandoras box in Logans tent. I mean, holy guacamole! Had she read our collective unconscious hormone-demented minds? I just had to write an interpretation of Logans thoughts. This song is perhaps closest to Nicks roots. There are echoes of her grandfathers dream of being a country music star mixed in with her own disillusionment of the music industry. Perhaps she can fool herself now and again, but the glitter does fade, just as Mystiques disguises melted away in the face of Logans disgust. But the feeling that remains for Logan after Mystique is gone is definitely in question. What made her change into Marie? Was she just screwing with his mind or does she suspect his true feelings? Is he that transparent? |
