EL TORO TRADITIONAL ARCHERY SHOOT
FEB.29, 2004

The El Toro 3-D shoot is on a giant range of hills and creekbeds and canyons in Orange County, CA.  The targets are made of foam and include javelinas, bears, turkeys, alligators, skunks, deer, and other game animals.  The archer gets one shot per target.  Center ring scores 10, then 8 for outer ring, and five for anywhere else on the animal.
There are a lot of hills and tire stairs, so if you aren't a hiker, this one will leave you winded.  Wear comfortable shoes, take sun hats and water.  Water stations are available along the course.  There are also some activities for junior archers.
