Temple of the Dragons

Storyteller: Up for Grabs

Located near the foot of the Himalayas is a hidden valley know for millenia to the local people as The Valley of the Dragons. The path to reach this valley is steep and dangerous to climb. The way is barren and dry, but once the valley is reached the traveler need no longer worry. Fruit bearing plants abound, small animals make for ease of hunting, the path is smooth and safe if slightly overgrown.

Towards the center of the valley is a small temple in a bad state of disrepair. It's door is large and leads to a well-worn stone stairway that leads gently down into the earth. After quite a descent the stair way opens up into large roomy caverns. The temperature is warmer than one would normally expect due to some thermal springs located lower in the caves. The layout of the caves is up to the Storyteller, however, there are a few things that for sure down there.

There are living quarters for the dragons and humans that used to populate the caverns, there are a series of geo-thermal springs, as well as severeal fresh water springs. There is a rookery where the eggs were laid/made and cared for, a cavern were the dragons went to die or were placed after death and a smaller seperate one for humans.

When designing the caves some things to keep in mind are that the dragons carved their history across all the walls of their cavern, whether or not it's in a language that can be translated is up to the ST. Dragons are a magic race, so anything can happen. Dragons love knowledge and praise learning above all else, very little of the cave was ever seen by humans, including the recent explorers. The caverns were inhabited for thousands of years, but they aren't now. About one hundred and fifty years ago something happened, what it was is again left to the ST.

For any games that include the character Jiro or one of the unhatched dragons:

Jiro will have a very good knowledge of the caves and what's in them, that doesn't mean that Jiro will know everything though. Jiro will not be aware of any changes that have been made since the egg was removed, basically anyhting that might have happened in the past eight years. Jiro has no idea as to what happened to cause the caves to be abandoned, all Jiro knows is that it happened fast. 1
