You want to know the location of the Apothecary and it's lair? That is a mystery that has been sought after for centuries. Many are the bereaved families who would and have paid dearly to find some clue as to where that notorious assassin resides. Perhaps some have found it, perhaps they have not, what is known is that none have returned to tell the tale.
What I hear commonly from those who even know of the Apothecary is that it resides somewhere in the heart of Europe. Depending on the source, the actual location is said to be in a large and well fortified castle, a hidden underwater cave, a ruined cliff top monestary, or some equally unreachable area that has been built over the span of time. What all these rumors have in common is that not a single one of them is true.
I can see your question, how would this senile old man know. When I was much younger, I met a gentleman who claimed to have been an apprentice to the Apothecary, I scoffed at him and he showed me undeniable evidence. I feared for my life then, but as you can see I am still alive, and my worries were for not. What he showed me I will not say, nor will I tell where he told me his master's lair was, or his reasons for doing so. What I will tell you is that it is never in the same place for more than one generation. When the old Apothecary dies, the new one will move to somewhere different. These places are devilishly hard to find and nearly impossible to enter, but should you gain entry I can promise you that you would not survive long. And now, I am tired, time has not been kind to me and I need to rest, perhaps if you like you could return in a day or two to hear more of my ramblings.
Mr. Pezzolo was found dead in his home, three days after this interview, of a presumed stroke.
