| Feb 16th The website is up and running. I think it looks pretty good myself :o) I welcome your feeback of course. Nothing going on in my life at the moment...well, that is not true. I just found out this morning I passed my nursing boards! It is the UNOFFICIAL results, but I'm feeling pretty confident! So now I need to find a job, it will be about a month before I get my liscense..but I really need to get a job lined up! I'm really excited! I am reading a good book right now. My very first job as a nurse! I'm so excited! It is a family owned family practice. The daddy is the doc, his wife is an RN, their daugher is a nurse practictioner and her daughter works in the front office. They also have a family friend working who is so sweet. They have hired me to replace a girl they really like, but who never shows up for work :( When asked what my payment expectations were I told her that the offers I had been receiving were between $11.63 and $12.50. She told me they hadn't decided on a wage yet, but it would be somewhere in that range. So...I have NO IDEA how much I'm getting paid, but as long as it's in that range it's OK! )0( Feb 27th Ok...I'm pissed. I was told today that my payrate was going to be TEN DOLLARS AN HOUR....and MAYBE, after my 90 day probation if they think I'm where I should be...then I'll move up to $10.50. Sorry folks, can't do that....you told me it was in the range of $11.63 and $12.50 and it's NOT....so I'm back to looking for another job now (sigh). Now, should I call them this weekend and tell them on the phone, or should I go in Mon and do it face to face? I thought about continuing to work there until they found someone else...but that is going to interfear with my interviewing process...hmmm...any comments would be welcome...E-mail )0( Feb 29th I just called my boss and told her that I could not work for the wages she offered me as the lowest "quote" I had received from anyone else was $11.63 and I was still getting calls from other people. I also told her I turned down a job with Dr. XXXXXX for $12.50/hr to work for them...so she's going to talk to the Doc (her dad) and see if he will agree to that rate. I doubt he will, he wasn't too happy about the first wage....I overheard him say $8.50 should be plenty...I could make that at McDonald's LOL... Anyway....she said she was going to talk to her dad and call me back...so I'm waiting....I called her at 7:30, I'm typing this at 7:40....let's see how long it takes.... It's 10:02 PM...they just called. She told me that they couldn't pay me that much to start off and said they sorry, wished me luck and said I was welcome back in the future. That went much better than I thought it would (wipes sweat off brow). SO....looks like tomorrow I'm back on the job hunt....(sigh). )0( |
