Other places I love.
Hoopers Inlet.

High in the hill country, on a place called Sandy Mount, where there are dunes hundreds of feet above sea level, this view can be found. Looking out toward the end of the Peninsula, nestled between hills, is Hoopers Inlet. A haven for wildlife, the beaches nearby boast not only fur seals but sealions and up to three types of penguin; Little Blue, Yellow Eyed and Snares Crested. Access is not restricted, if youre fit and determined. The climb is long and hard in both directions!
The Pillar.

Also visible from this vantage-point is the Pillar. The photo doesnt do it justice!
Nature Reserve in Green Island.

Closer to home are a series of small lakes and ponds. Once a landfill, the Dept. of Conservation have stepped in and turned what couldve been an eyesore into a haven for native waterfowl.
Hill Country.

With views like this, who could fail to love the hills that surround Dunedin? The spring colour is spectacular as gorse and broom flower simultaneously. Both are considered a nuisance, so are normally cleared, so a picture such as this may not be so common in the future.
