Products: Floating Floors

Installation Instructions

Tools & Material
Hammer, ruler, saw, measuring tape, wedges, crowbar, wooden battens, chisel and PVA glue.

Recommendations
Plan the installation before the application is started: measure the area where the flooring is to be installed. Normally, the last row of flooring would have to be cut longitudinally to adjust. If the flooring remains thin, the first row of flooring should also be cut to match the dimensions of the flooring in the last row.
Inspect the condition of the flooring before installation. Complaints cannot be accepted after faulty flooring has been installed.
Never glue or fix the flooring to the ground with nails or screws.
Use polyethylene film to protect flooring from subfloor moisture.
Always leave a 3/8" space between flooring and perimeter walls and fixtures.
Use an expansion joint if floor is longer than 30 feet.

Installation
  1. Place polyethylene film on subfloor.
  2. Cut the door frames at the bottom to allow the floor to fit under them.
  3. Start installation off perimeter wall using wedges to keep floor 3/8" from wall.
  4. Begin the placing of panels so that the female side of the first panel faces the wall.
  5. Cut the last panel of the first row and place this piece at the beginning of the second row, so that the groove and ridge are facing each other.
  6. Apply glue evenly on the full lengths and widths of the panel.
  7. Fit panels by hand and adjust them by using a piece of wood and a hammer or mallet (never hammer directly on the panel).
  8. Remove excess glue with a damp sponge.
  9. At the other side of the wall, cut panels lengthwise to fit by placing panel to be cut over last row with male ridge facing wall, remembering to leave 3/8" space. Mark off and cut.
  10. After cutting, apply the glue and fit panel manually, adjusting it with the help of a crowbar.
  11. Remove wedges and cover perimeter gaps with a baseboard.
Maintenance
Clean regularly with a vacuum or slightly moistened cloth with a mild detergent. Never use water directly on floor. Protect floor from furniture by using felt on feet.
