Green Day's Manager Starts Record Label @ Yahoo! News: here
LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Pat Magnarella, manager of the Goo Goo Dolls (news - web sites) and Green Day, has started a label distributed through Universal Records.
The label, aptly named Pat's Record Company, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mosaic Media Group, of which Magnarella is a principal. MMG includes Atlas Entertainment, Atlas/Third Rail Management and talent management group the Gold/Miller Co. The label's first signings are alternative rock bands Number One Fan and From Satellite.

"What we like to do is, in certain situations, like in a few theaters, we'll play everything from the new album [linearly]," Armstrong said. "And then just play our set, which is all of the songs from all of our other albums. I'm excited about the diversity we'll be able to pull off live."
A fall tour itinerary will be announced later this summer.

Green Day�s Billie Joe Armstrong said when writing their new album, the gloves were off and they just went for it. They wanted to push themselves to be maximum Green Day. They had a completed album a year and a half ago, but the master tapes were stolen, and now that they look back, they feel like the stolen material wasn�t up to maximum Green Day standards. They feel the hard thing now will be outdoing the new disc, American Idiot, which drops September 21st.
